Horror Movie Tag

Hello everyone! I hope all of you are having a marvellous weekend! It's 19 days into October and I'm only now posting something Halloween-y. This is shocking behaviour and I thought it was about time that I fixed it!! Over the last week or so, I've been trying to come up with spooky post ideas, so it was perfect timing for the lovely Kim over at Chimmyville to tag me in this Horror Movie Tag! Be sure to head over to her blog and check out her post :) I hope you all enjoy reading my answers!

1. What is the first horror movie you remember watching?

When I was around 10 or 11 years old, I was hanging out at my friends house and being the weird little vampire-obsessed kids that we were back then (totally not changed much, haha!), we decided to watch Bram Stoker's Dracula (1992). I felt like such a rebel because I knew I wouldn't have been allowed to watch it at home :D In all the excitement, we then wanted to watch another horror, and ended up choosing Alien (1979) next. Are there any movies that made you feel cool when you watched it as a kid?

2. What is your favourite horror movie?

My more well-known favourite horror movies are A Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors (1987), Rob Zombie's The Devil's Rejects (2005), and 2017's IT movie (Chapter 1). I also LOVE a much lesser-known horror by Wes Craven, The People Under the Stairs (1991) and a more recent fantastic, and often underrated, movie called The Witch / The VVitch: A New-England Folk Tale (2015). Any fellow Black Phillip fans reading? :D

3. What's your favourite horror movie genre?

I love slasher movies best. I also thoroughly enjoy a good old psychological horror/thriller, especially The Silence of the Lambs (1991).

4. What genre scares you the most?

I don't get scared by horrors, but there's definitely things that make me cringe (and not in a 'gosh, that's bad' kind of way). When it comes to some gore, I always have cover my eyes but of course, I'm peeping through my hands because I'm too curious for my own good, haha! One scene that comes to mind is from House of Wax (2005) when a character gets their Achilles tendon cut with scissors... eeeek!

5. What is the last horror movie you watched that actually scared you?

As I said above, I don't really get scared when watching horror. I just love them! But I've jumped a couple of times... I'm not a fan of that clown doll in Poltergeist (1982) that pulls the kid under the bed! I also once watched one of those dramatized 'based on a real story' style thrillers, called Megan Is Missing (2011) and there's a dead body scene in that which looked so realistic the first time I watched it that I jumped! Anyone ever seen this movie?

A photo showing a pile of Horror VHS movies, with tiny horror character figures sitting on top of them

6. Who is your ultimate Scream Queen?

I think Drew Barrymore was brilliant at the start of Scream (1996)… did you know that she was originally offered the lead role but she couldn't do it, so Neve Campbell was cast? I love Neve Campbell's performance though so I'm happy it worked out that way! I'm gonna have the iconic 'Hello Sidney' line stuck in my head for ages now XD One of the best horror movie intros ever!

Maika Monroe's role as lead character in It Follows (2014) is fantastic, too! I know it's not a movie, but Sarah Paulson is always epic in American Horror Story :) Who else watches the show? If so, do you have a favourite season? Mine's Season 4: Freak Show. I love Anya Taylor-Joy as well; she's fabulous in the Witch and Split (2017), and I can't wait to see her in more horror/thriller movies.

7. What's a concept that you'd like to see in horror?

I'm not sure, because to be honest I am a sucker for certain tropes, even if they've been done time and time again. What can I say? I'm a creature of habit :) It's always a welcome surprise to see a unique twist to the stereotypical storyline of most slasher movies though! I love unique concepts, such as the one for It Follows, which you really need to watch if you haven't already! Oh, and I would love a good cult movie, that isn't cheesy af. I've not watched Midsommar (2019) yet... If you have, what did you think?

I have started to enjoy sci-fi horror a lot more after discovering that they are not all about aliens... which are not really my cup of tea when it comes to horror. I enjoyed Splice back in 2009, for example. It would be great to see more like this, that have more focus on the science side of things, if that makes sense.

8. What is your favourite on-screen kill?

Oh wow, there's so many! What horror fan doesn't have a long list of favourites!? (or maybe I'm just weird...). To name a few: the scene in Child's Play 2 (1990) when the guy gets his eyes impaled in the factory's doll production line, the end of Hostel: Part 2 (2007) when the protagonist gets her own back!, the puppet scene in A Nightmare on Elm Street 3, Paris Hilton's characters death in House of Wax, the chair torture scene in (I think) Hellraiser: Deader (2005). I could list more... but I'll stop now before you'll all think I'm weirder than you already know I am XD

9. What's your favourite franchise?

I adore the franchise by Rob Zombie that includes House of 1000 Corpses (2003), The Devil's Rejects and I am yet to watch the newest addition, 3 From Hell (2019). RIP Sid Haig T_T. I am also a lover of all the A Nightmare on Elm Street movies. Most of the Hellraiser movies are awesome, too, as well as the first few Child's Play movies.

10. Who's your favourite horror director?

Wes Craven and Rob Zombie are my all-time favourites. Clive Baker too, of course, for Hellraiser. I know that Guillermo del Toro is more well-known for his creepy fantasy but the Spanish horror The Orphanage (2007) is brilliant and he's another of my favourite directors, so I'm including him anyway. Who else loves his work?

Well, those are my answers to the horror tag! I very much enjoyed writing about my favourite movie genre, and I now want to re-watch, for probably the 50th time, the horrors that I mentioned. However, I am currently doing a Horrorthon challenge, where I watch a horror movie that I have never seen before each day of October. I'm having a lot of fun with that, and I'll be sure to blog all about it at the end of the month. Are any of you guys doing a spooky movie marathon this month, whether it's a horror one or not? Before I finish up today's post, it's time to nominate some of my fabulous fellow bloggers to join in. I tag: Jess, Natalee, Eleanor , Vikki and Kiah to do the Horror Movie Tag. I'm looking forward to reading your answers guys! Feel free to answer this even if I didn't tag you, and please send me a link so I can have a read of your post :)

Thankyou for reading!

Guts and Glitter Haul | Review

Happy Saturday Everyone! I hope you've all been having a wonderful day enjoying this glorious sunshine we've had! This Thursday was the Summer Solstice which marks the beginning of summertime, and ever since we have been blessed with lovely weather. I hope this continues over the next couple of months, although I'll be happy with just a few weeks of respite from the typical British weather! If you've took advantage of the sunshine and done something fun today, I'd love to hear all about it in the comments :) Anyhow, today's post is going to be all about a little haul I did at the start of the month, from a store that I have had my eyes on for a while after stumbling across their fabulous products on Instagram (I just love Instagram so much, it's been great for bringing awesome stores to my attention!). Enjoy!

Guts & Glitter Haul

I fell in love with the products by  UK-based independent business Guts & Glitter as soon as I set eyes on them! They are the perfect combination of two of my favourite things, kawaii culture & horror. I am always conflicted between both sides of my personality: one part loves all things cute and fluffy and adorable and pastel-coloured, and the other is a fan of everything dark and macabre, of spookiness and gore, and is a sucker for anything relating to horror movies! So I really appreciate anything that meshes together the best of both worlds so that I can express myself wholeheartedly. There was one specific item that I was really lusting over, so as soon as I had a little spare cash, I ordered it right away, but of course I couldn't resist adding another goodie to my shopping cart. Here's a link to the Guts & Glitter etsy too, which is where I placed my order :) So yeah... here's what I ordered!

Guts & Glitter Haul

I was so over the moon when I received my package from Guts & Glitter... the items just looked even better in person! I LOVE LOVE LOVE how bright and eye-catching the colours and designs are! I can't express how much I love my new Pennywise the Dancing Clown pin!! This is the item that made me follow the store as soon as I saw it, and then I discovered all of the other fabulous products the store made. They have a wonderful selection of horror-esque and nerdy items, and lots more. Go and check them out guys :)

Guts & Glitter Haul

What's there not to love about this pin!? Pennywise is one of my most favourite horror characters and I absolutely loved the recent adaptation of the classic story, which this pin is designed after. If you don't know who Pennywise the Dancing Clown is, he is the main villain/monster, in a novel titled 'IT' by famous horror writer Stephen King. The book was made into a movie, well actually a two-part mini series, in 1990 which starred the amazing Tim Curry as Pennywise. Then last year, there was a remake/re-imagining of the movie by director Andres Muschietti, in which Swedish actor Bill Skarsgard played the iconic clown and did an incredible job too! Bill Skarsgard, just like his brothers who are also actors (Alexander Skarsgard & Gustav Skarsgard), is gorgeous and so I'm sure a lot of fellow fans can relate to how I feel being attracted to a creepy clown XD It's no surprise to be honest because my best friend is always teasing me for fancying the characters in horror movies. I have a problem, hahaha!

Guts & Glitter Haul

I especially love this enamel pin because it is of this new 2017 Pennywise! There's just something much more menacing about a clown who instead of having the stereotypical big red bobble nose has a painted-on nose... I guess it's because I always associate those big red noses with parties and fairs and comedy (oh, and red nose day!), whereas the face painting of the newer Pennywise makes me think of serial killer who's painted his face as a mask almost. The 90's pennywise looked more like your friendly neighbour clown gone bad, whereas Bill Skarsgard's character especially in his white outfit looks like he's escaped from an asylum. Does anyone else feel the same way? Anyway, I prefer the new design and so it makes me happy that this pin is designed after it!

I love how Guts & Glitter's version of Pennywise has such a adorable, chibi look! The colours that the artist has chosen go so well together too. I really like the clown's green and yellow eyes, they look so much like anime eyes and they are making me wish that someone would make an animation movie of IT... how awesome would that be though!!

Guts & Glitter Haul

I have always wanted one of these double pins that are connected by a chain but I could never find one that I wanted to wear myself until I spotted this one! I think that it is such a cool idea to have Pennywise attached to his balloon, which if you haven't seen the movie/read the book, is his signature 'accessory'. He always carries a single balloon around with him, and often plays tricks on people using balloons. I very much like that the balloon pin is heart-shaped to keep in with the kawaii theme of the design. I love the little shine detail in the corner of the balloon too :)

Both of these pin badges are such great quality and super pretty. The bold, black outlining of them makes them stand out even more and I like that the chain is also in the matching black colour of the outline. This pin is available in a different variation, which includes a pink heart balloon and a gold chain and outline, but I much preferred this one because I think the black outline is a nice contrast to the bright colours of the pins themselves. I cannot wait to rock this pin out and about!

Guts & Glitter Haul

As my regular readers will know, I've been collecting vinyl stickers over the last few years. I started doing this because I was saving up for a new laptop, and ever since I was teenager when I first saw photos on tumblr of laptops covered in cool stickers, I wanted to create my own someday! When I finally got my first laptop, which my mom kindly bought for me when I was starting university, it was purple and I decided not to decorate it with stickers as they wouldn't stand out as much on it as they would on a black laptop. However, since then my purple laptop's best days have been and done, and I am thankfully the owner of a new black laptop, which I have been slowly adding more and more stickers to. I had built up a small collection of stickers by the time I got my new laptop, some of which I'd received as freebies from orders and others I'd bought each year that I have been attending Manchester Comic Con, but as of this year I was all out of stickers to add to my laptop. When I did my little shop at Guts & Glitter and spotted that they had a fantastic selection of stickers for sale, I just had to get one for my laptop... it was so tough to choose just one though!

Guts & Glitter Haul

In the end, I settled on this 'Spooky Girl' vinyl sticker! I had the option to get it in a matte style or a glossy one, and I chose matte for a change as all my other laptop stickers are glossy. There were also two colour variations available, this pink one and a green one too. I like the contrast between the horror aesthetic and the bright pink colour/ frilly-edge heart shape of the sticker, so I chose that. Is it weird to say that I am a fan of knives? Probably, but oh well :D I can't deny that I like them, and this one is the iconic hunting knife (buck 120 knife?) that is typically seen in horror movies. I like that it has a pink handle which gives it a kawaii feel, if a knife can even be considered cute that is! The blood-spatter detailing appeals to the gore fan in me, and the caption 'Spooky Girl' is also perfect for me because well I'm a weird person! All in all it's just an awesome and brilliant quality sticker.

The other sticker that you can see in my photographs was actually a freebie! I think it is so lovely when artists include a little thankyou note or a free item along with your order, it just makes it more personal and who doesn't love a surprise!? Thankyou so much Guts & Glitter  I love my new 'I heart Derry' sticker. Again, if you've seen the movies and/or read the book, you'll understand the reference of this sticker to the storyline; Derry is the name of the town that the story is set in and the balloon itself is included in the scenes but I don't want to say anymore because eeek! spoilers. I really like that this sticker has the same design and colour-scheme as the sticker I bought, but since it's smaller I'm going to save it to use in a crafty project or in a journal one day.

Guts & Glitter Haul

TA-DA! The 'Spooky Girl' sticker has now been added to my laptop, and I love how much it pops! I think it is gonna be very noticeable no matter what stickers end up surrounding it as well, which is wonderful. Overall, I am definitely impressed with my first shop from Guts & Glitter, and I will certainly be buying more stuff from them in the future. I love that the artist also makes kink-positive products too and I hope to some day see some more themes added to that collection, such as petplay :) Another thing that I loved about purchasing from Guts & Glitter was how great the prices were! The Pennywise enamel pin was only £11 which I think is amazing considering you basically get two pins in one! And can you believe that the 'Spooky Girl' sticker was only £1!? Also, the P&P was only £2.50 for me as I'm in the UK and that was for Royal Mail signed for shipping, and my order arrived in the lovely metallic pink padded envelope too. It's so much more exciting when mail arrives in pretty packaging. So, if nerdy stuff and horror are up your street, then I recommend checking out this store!

Thankyou for reading!

Spoopy Unboxing Fridays #4

Hey guys! Happy Friday! Today marks the end of my Spoopy Unboxing posts. It's the last Friday of the month, Halloween will be fast upon us! I have really enjoyed collecting some new blind box series and I am pretty sad that there's not a couple more friday's left to go! I hope that you've enjoyed finding out what figures my boxes revealed as much as I've enjoyed showing you. So without further ado, here is my last round of Halloweeny unboxing...

Spoopy Unboxing Fridays #4

I have been after some blind bags from the Pint Size Heroes range from Funko for a while now. Although I have watched so many unboxing videos of these types of figures over on Youtube, I was really curious to see for myself how much detail and quality would be put into such tiny figures. I was definitely impressed by what I found! For such miniature figures, they are very good quality with a lovely paintjob. There are quite a few different series of the Pint Size Heroes available: Spiderman ones, WWE ones, Sci-fi, Steven Universe, Disney ones.

Personally, I was most excited about the Horror ones and The Nightmare Before Christmas ones, however this collection is pretty new and I've only managed to find them on Forbidden Planet for pre-order. I managed to find the Horror Pint Size Heroes blind bags that I will be reviewing today, on a online store called Geek Shack. They were also a pound cheaper here than the other websites that had them for sale, at only £3.99 each! I bought five. Keep scrolling to find out which figures I got...

My first blind bag revealed mini Mr Beetlejuice himself! I absolutely love his cheeky grin and sinister expression; it really reflects his personality in the movie, Tim Burton's Beetlejuice (1988). I like how his tongue is peeping out there too, haha. I'm lovin' his black & white pinstripe suit because of how eye-catching it is and how well it contrasts with his awesome green hair! The purple colouration around his eyes is cool too, and he's such a great figure. I was very happy to be off on such a good start!

Spoopy Unboxing Fridays #4

OH MY GOSH! I am reallllllyy happy that I got Chucky!! He's a fabulous and very iconic horror character and I think this Pint Size Heroes version of him is so freakin' adorable! I am very much impressed with all of detail that's gone into his design! All of the colours too, he's a very vibrant little figure! The attention to detail on the Chucky figure is fantastic! I mean, just look at the miniscule 'Good Guys' lettering on his dungaree pocket. In the movie franchise, the doll that the main character possesses is from a line called 'Good Guys' so it's awesome that they've included this small detail.

My favourite part of the design is all of the scaring and stitching on Chucky's face, which looks brillant when combined with his evil smirk. His ginger hair is wonderful too as it has a textured look. Chucky is one of the figures that I most wanted so I'm honestly over the moon!

Spoopy Unboxing Fridays #4

Upon checking out which figures were available in the Horror Pint Size Heroes blind bags, Carrie was not one of the figures that I wanted the most, however after actually getting her in the third bag I opened, she's definitely one of my favourites now! Just look how amazing she looks!? If you're a fan of Funko's Pop! vinyl figures, you may have seen that they recently brought out a Carrie version and this figure is also fashioned after the well-known scene from the 1976 film, the scene where the protagonist is covered in pig's blood by her high school bullies. I would love to add this Pop! to my collection, and I'm also very glad that this Pint Size Heroes version is designed to resemble this scene too. This is the part of the movie where Carrie's personality really changes from a shy, quiet girl to a badass horror character, and so I'm very happy that they've given this mini figure a smirk to show this. I love the way the blood is dripping down her face and how she has a few speckles on her arms and cheek. Doesn't she just look so cool!?

Spoopy Unboxing Fridays #4

I have to admit that the only reason I want this figure is so that I can complete the whole set. As much as I think Elvira as a character is gorgeous and very cool, I am yet to watch her 1988 movie, Elvira: Mistress Of The Dark. Maybe I should add it to my Halloween night watch-list! Have you ever seen the movie? Let me know what your thoughts are in the comments. It does make me laugh that on every single figure I've seen of Elvira across Funko's many collections, they always make sure to highlight her clevage. I know she's an alternative celebrity crush icon, but it's just funny to see that even on the tiniest of figures, this is not left out of the design.

What I like most of this figure is the pretty colours of her eyeshadow, it does look lovely, and I also think the knife on her belt is an awesome little detail too. One of Elvira's most eye-catching features is her big hair, so I like how this has been incorperated into the design. I'm disappointed though that on the figure I received, there is a mistake and her hair has a massive dent on the right size of the figure :( It is somewhat visible on my photograph... see how the sides of her head don't match in shape? So I will have to open a few extra bling bags to try and get her again, this time hopefully undamaged.

Spoopy Unboxing Fridays #4

Yayy! I got another of my favourites! I was feeling very lucky that I didn't get any duplicates in my blind bags and that I got two of the characters at the top of my wishlist!! If you're not much of a horror fan and don't know who Pinhead is, he's the leader of a group of creatures from Hell, known as cenobites, in the Hellraiser horror movie franchise. Hellraiser, especially Hellraiser 3: Hell on Earth, is one of my top five horror movies. If you're a fan of continous gore, then I recommend that you watch these movies!

Something that I really like about this Pinhead figure is how they've managed to include all of the weapons on his outfit and also his exposed, bloody ribs, on such a small space. It is printed on rather than painted on, which I prefer on a miniature figure as there's less room for error. The coolest part of his figure though is obviously all of the pins in his head and just the way it looks! Due to the size of the figures, they couldn't really add much detail to his 'pins' but they will look great as little silver bumps across his entire head and face. It's a 10/10 from me!

Spoopy Unboxing Fridays #4

Ta-da! So here's all of the characters that I unboxed (or should I say unbagged?). Which is your favourite out of all of the ones I got?

Spoopy Unboxing Fridays #4

In the Pint Size Heroes Horror collection, there are twelve figures to collect and what's great is that they all have a 1 in 12 rarity, which means you have a better chance of collecting all of the characters! The characters that I wanted most of all were Freddy Krueger, Chucky, Pennywise the Clown, Pinhead and Michael Myers. Which one would you most want to receive?

I was supposed to take a photograph of the back of the packaging to show you that they have misprinted it (oops)! All of the blind bags I got and all the ones I've seen on Youtube have an incorrect packaging which shows two identical Gremlins in the collection, but when we open up the bags and take out the checklist leaflet inside, it shows a Gremlin and then another character who you can see on the bottom row in the middle. This guy is Krampus, and he's the figure missing on the back of the blind bag. Silly Funko!

Spoopy Unboxing Fridays #4

How amazing do my new figures look all lined up next to one another!? I can't wait to get all twelve and have them displayed on a shelf in my bedroom, when I can finally start the decorating process. I love the chibi design of the Pint Size Heroes, with their oversized heads and tiny bodies. I love how different they all look to each other and how much they mirror the movie characters they are designed after. They all look bloody awesome and I've certainly got a mighty need now to invest in more Pint Size Heroes. I am well and truely obsessed with collectible figures! I'm going to be overrun with them soon, but I don't care!

I don't want to end this post because it means it's the finale of my Spoopy Unboxings (for this year at least :p haha!) but Stranger Things is calling me so thus I must go! Who else going to be binge-watching season 2 over the weekend?

Thankyou for reading!

Have my Spoopy Unboxing posts persuaded you to buy some for yourself?

Spoopy Unboxing Fridays #2

Happy Friday 13th! I'm going to spend my night watching the 2009 adaptation of Friday 13th & another horror movie, although I haven't decided which one yet! I think it's so awesome that Friday has fallen on the 13th day in October, the month dedicated to all things spooky! It's just perfect, and it's even more fantastic that it's Spoopy Unboxing Friday here on my blog!! That is because today I have some horror themed blind boxes to reveal to you all. I've been really excited about these Funko Mystery Minis for a long time, and I'm over the moon that I finally have some of the amazing figures for myself :) I can't wait to show off these little spooky guys! If you didn't catch my last October unboxing, you can read it here. Enjoy!

Spoopy Unboxing Fridays

If you've been following my blog for a while, you may know that I absolutely adore everything horror related, anything macabre and gothic. I wouldn't really label myself because I'm an eclectic sort of girl, but I have been more on the alternative side since I was in my early teens. Horror movies are my favourite, mostly the psychological kinds but I also enjoy a good slasher movie. I love gore! I love creepy things, too! So you can imagine my delight when it came to my attention that Funko had released Horror Classics versions of their Mystery Mini figures.

I have watched so many unboxing videos and reviews of them on youtube, and I am very stressed that I can't seem to get ahold of Series 1 (which has all the best characters in my opinion) in the UK or even on eBay without having to pay a ridiculous price for just one blind box! However, since Series 3 is the most recent of the Horror Classics collection, I managed to find them for a decent price and in the UK too. Yayyy! I bought them from online store A1 Toys, for £5.99 per box. So, I won't keep you waiting any longer! Here are the figures that I found inside my Funko Mystery Mini Horror Classics S3 blind boxes... there's going to be A LOT of photos in this post!!

Funko Mystery Mini Horror Classics

Funko Mystery Mini Horror Classics

The first Horror Classics blind box that I opened revealed Regan from The Exorcist (1973), who is a famously iconic horror character. The Exorcist was one of the first horror movies I watched, and it was definitely an awesome movie for the time. It's also pretty spooky when you read into all the strange goings on that surrounded the movie set, as well as involving the cast and crew! I'm glad that the Regan figure is smaller than the others in the set, as it would have been a little annoying to have a character who's a 12 year old child the same size as the rest. I really like the contrast of her pale blue innocent-looking nightie to the rest of the figure, to her demonic stratched up face.

I love the look of her face: those cuts, the vomit and the angry 'GRR!' expression of her mouth! The figure has a nice zombified green tint to it which is great, but my favourite feature of Regan is the vomit running down her front because it instantly makes me picture the possession scenes in the movie! It's also pretty cool that they've added a few little cuts to her hands. I love Funkos attention to detail on all of their figures in general! There's a bit of a messy paint job on the hair around her face, and usually this would be a shame but in this case, because of her character, it kind of adds to the 'dirty' look, so sort of adds to the character's overall look. Do you agree?

YASSSS! I GOT THE BEETLEJUICE CHARACTER!! Tim Burton's Beetlejuice (1988) is one of my top five movies to watch around Halloweentime (all year around too of course!); it's just a fabulous ghosty comedy movie, with awesome characters. Lydia Deetz, played by Winona Ryder, was one of my icons growing up. I would always hope to look/dress like her some day, haha! Anyhow, how cool does this figure of Adam look!? I love love love the bloody eyeball hands! It's such a eye-catching, weird figure and I really hope that Funko creates some more Beetlejuice characters in future series! I really like how mundane the characters outfit is, and then to have such a unique head/face... it just looks epic!

If you haven't seen Beetlejuice yet, you seriously need to! I have no complaints about this figure, it was one of the figures that I really wanted to get! I also got a duplicate of this guy in another box I bought, but getting repeats is the nature of blind boxes so I don't mind really.

Okay so how amazing is it that I got Jason Voorhees on Friday 13th!!!? Like wow! If you didn't know, this character is the protagonist in the horror movie franchise, Friday 13th. So basically today is his day and that's why I'll be watching one of the movies later. Is it normal that I would describe this figure as beautiful? Because I think it is!! I'm very impressed with his design, with all of his detailing and features. His tattered and torn outfit looks great, even more so that it shows off the skeletal structures underneath. It's also awesome that they included this on the back of the figure! Additionally, I love that his mask is broken to reveal some of his skeleton face! His hands look cute too, they remind me of the emo-style gloves I used to wear as a teenager, haha!

My favourite parts of this figure though are Jason's bloody axe and his iconic hockey mask! I love how pristine it looks, it's very eye-catching especially in comparison to the dark-colour of the rest of his body. It would have been awesome to see some blood-splattering on it but I do really like it how it is! Even though Jason wasn't one of the characters in Series 3 that I most wanted to get, his design is so fantastic that he's now one of my favourites of the lot! I'm delighted that I got the star of the show on today of all days!

I got Wolfman and he is so adorable! He's one of the easiest figures to get in this set; Wolfman, Elvira and Bruce the shark from Jaws all have a 1/6 chance of being inside your blindbox. I actually ended up getting three of him altogether, and I was not impressed! This character is based on the 1941 Universal Pictures movie The Wolf Man, which I admit I haven't watched. I've not watched many of the classic Universal Pictures horror movies, or many werewolf movies either. I'm happy to receive the Wolfman though because I want to complete this Horror Classics Mystery Mini set (my bank account is not so happy!). I like his claws, they stand out, however the paintjob on them looks pretty bad! Something I do like though is the texture and design of the Wolfman's hair. It certainly looks cool! Have any of you ever seen any of the old Universal Pictures horrors? Which ones would you recommend?

HERE'S JOHNNY!

(I couldn't resist, sorry not sorry). The Shining is one of my top ten horror movies, it's fantastic and actor Jack Nicholson does an absolutely amazing job of the leading role. He plays Jack Torrance, which is who this figure is of and it looks so much like him :) The Grady Twins from the same movie are available in Series 3 and I really really wanted to get them, but I was very glad to get Jack. I actually squealed upon opening his box! I'm very impressed with the intricate detailing of his little teeth, they make his sinister smile look great! I love the way his eyebrows look... they really add to his expression! The axe is awesome, but I wish it had some little pieces of wood on it to symbolise when he axed through the door in the well-known movie scene. Wouldn't that look cool?

I love how the outfits on a lot of these figures have a very simplistic design, with most of them having solid colouring or a basic patterning, but Funko make sure these outfits still have awesome little details that make them look so good. For example, there's details on the both the back and front of Jack's jacket (this made me laugh) to let us know that it's padded and not just a shirt, and pockets on the back of his jeans. Overall, this figure is brilliant!

The final character that I got, other than the duplicates, was the Mummy. As far as I know he's based on the original character from the 1932 The Mummy movie, but I'm not 100%. I'm impressed with his design, how they can make such a simplistic figure with just plain bandages look so cool! I like the different grey/white shades used to highlight the various parts of the figure. I think his solemn expression makes him look really cute! I love his stance, it looks like he's almost saying 'check out my fancy ring'. He's a sassy mummy, haha! His ring is pretty damn awesome though, a lovely golden Scarab beetle. He also has gold outlining around his eyes, and this little detail looks gorgeous. I like how much he stands out next to the other figures because of his colouration, and he's just a really nice figure.

Here are all of the figures that you can collect in Series 3 of the Funko Horror Classics Mystery Minis. The ones that are on the top of my list include Freddy Krueger with the hypodermic needle hands because it's from my favourite A Nightmare on Elm Street movie... Part 3, 'Dream Warriors' from 1987. I also really REALLY want Patrick Bateman from American Psycho (2000), The Grady Twins who I mentioned earlier, Twisty the Clown from American Horror Story (Season 4) and the dad from Beetlejuice who I got! It sucks that the two figures I most want to get are the hardest to collect, with them both having a 1/72 rariety *cry cry*. Altogether I purchased ten boxes and I got the 1/6 Wolfman three times (ugh), the 1/24 Mummy and 1/24 Beetlejuice guy (I got another of these), Jason Voorhees also has a 1/24 rariety and finally, Jack from The Shining is a 1/12 figure, so I didn't do  too bad I guess other than three Wolfman's! I wish I'd have gotten at least one of the other 1/6 characters instead of three of the same, but nevermind.

Look how awesome do my figures look all lined up next to each other!! I'm so so happy that I could finally start collecting this series and I can't wait to have a shelf filled with all fourteen characters! Which is your favourite out of all the figures I received inside my blind boxes? They are beautifully designed boxes too, with a stereotypical horror-esque white tiles wall all spattered with blood, and some of the characters on the box. I love how the figures have been designed to be cute but all of the characters best features have been included and in a way that makes them awesome little horror icons but still with a cutesy appeal :) Very spoopy indeed! Which figure out of entire collection is your favourite?

I hope you all had fun reading this post and having a nosey at all of the figures I got. I'm definitely enjoying this mini blog series and I can't wait to share next weeks with you all!

Thankyou for reading!
