Hi everyone! This post has been a ridiculously long time coming! This month (well and in the last week of September too), I have been more productive than I have been in what feels like forever now! A week ago today, it was my birthday and I turned 26! Wow, I really don't feel 26 but does anyone ever feel their age!? It seems like the last ten years have just flown by! But before I get carried away talking about how much has happened over these years, I'll tell you how I spent my birthday, haha! I went for a carvery meal with my mom, and it was delicious :) I received such wonderful gifts from my loved ones, and I'll be blogging all about them some time next week, so keep an eye out for that if you're curious to see what I got! My best friend & I were born only nine days apart, (and she likes to remind me that she's older than me ;p), and for several years now, we've had a joint birthday celebration. We usually always go for a meal, and on Thursday we decided to go to Brewers Fayre because we had a coupon for an amazing 2 for 1 deal on main meals! We spent under £20 each and each got a main course, a dessert, refill drinks, and we even decided to get a cheeky second dessert to share just before we left :D I regret nothing! It was scrumptious. Today, I am off out to see the new Venom movie and oh my gosh, I am so EXCITED!
Anyhow, going out feels like it has given me the push that I needed to get my life back on track and I am determined to make October a productive month! :) I feel like I say this every month but something just feels different this time, and I hope that this feeling lasts! Right now, I am feeling motivated today and I am determined to get as much done as I can whilst I'm in this mindset... which means finally sharing my Spring Pusheen Box with you all!
Quite a while ago now, after I'd just received this year's Summer Edition of the Pusheen subscription box, I shared a poll on a few of my social media accounts asking you guys whether I should still share a post all about the Spring Box, or just move onto blogging about the Summer one. However, most of the voters opted for me to do posts about both of the boxes, and so it's about time that I got this done! Please forgive my delay everyone, I'm the worst blogger lately! Hopefully the cuteness overload that you are going to get from this post will make up for it :D Enjoy!
First of all, I'd just like to talk about how much I appreciate the design that goes into each of the Pusheen Boxes. They always decorate the box in a way that reflects the theme that you are going to find inside, which I just love! You don't usually find this with other subscription boxes, where the company/creator normally send you the same design of box each time, whether it's a monthly box or a quarterly one like the Pusheen Box. I also like that the Pusheen Box comes covered in a plastic wrap so it's less likely to get scratched and ruin the pretty design, although sometimes this does still happen but that's not really the fault of Pusheen Box themselves.
Anyhow, if you've never heard of the Pusheen Box before, it's an amazing seasonal subscription box put together by CultureFly. It seems pretty pricey when you are paying $60 for a subscription box (plus shipping), but when you bare in mind that monthly subscription boxes are usually around £25 each, then you'll realise that the Pusheen Box is actually a really good value for money. I much prefer paying this much for a big box of great quality, useful items than £15-25 each month for other kinds of subscription box that often contain a few awesome things and then lots of, usually really random, filler items. Even when the items in the Pusheen Box haven't really been something that I would choose to buy individually, they have still all been useful and I have ended up using them anyway, when I didn't think I would! So without further ado, let's get to what was inside the Spring 2018 box!!
Ta-da! Just look at this colour scheme!! It's gorgeous, and so are all of the items themselves! The Spring edition Pusheen Box includes ten fantastic items, including the monthly vinyl figure, which is always designed to match the overall theme of the box. This time, the theme is Celebration and that's because this box marks the 10th box to be sent out to subscribers! They've added a celebratory pin badge to the box for the special occasion, and as a collector of pins, I think that's awesome!! Keep reading for a closer look at all of this lovely Pusheen merch :) What's your first impression of the contents?
Since the 10th box celebration pin encompasses the theme of this addition of the Pusheen Box, I thought it only right to talk about it first. As a pin collector, I'm pretty biased when it comes to pin badges, especially when I am sent them as surprises! I am always going to love receiving adorable, top quality pins to add to my ever-growing collection, and this one is so pretty! I'm actually not a big fan of the colour gold, and if it wasn't for the fact that a) it's a pin, and b) it's got Pusheen on it, I probably wouldn't like it much based on the fact that it's gold. However, how can anyone dislike this pin!? This balloon theme just makes me think of Disney's UP, which is a wonderful movie and so I can overlook the fact that it's gold. I don't know why I don't like gold that much! Are you a fan of the colour yourself? How about the pin? You know what else this pin makes me think of, those gold star stickers of achievement, that you would get on your work in primary school! Well done Pusheen box, it's 10 gold stars for you!
Awwww, isn't Pusheen just so adorable!? I love how chubby she is! I really love seeing this design of her too, were she's sitting as a ball of fluff with her feet tucked up underneath her. Too cute! I'm super happy that they've chosen this design for these two items above: a tape dispenser and a mouse pad! Even though these items both don't really fit in with the theme of the box, I still love them because they are practical items that I will definitely use! One of my favourite things about the Pusheen Box is that even the 'filler' items are great quality and always something that I'm going to get some use out of!
I have been after a mouse pad for a while now, to use on my new desk (when I eventually finish decorating, it's taking me months and months to get around to doing it, and my desk is currently living in the hallway in a huge flatpack box which is taking up all the space, along with several other Ikea boxes, oops!). What I love about this one is how soft and squishy it is, and that unlike other mouse pads I've had in the past, the top isn't a hard plastic material, that is raised enough off of the desktop to eventually make my wrist ache when I've been using my computer for a few hours. This mouse pad is pretty much flat, and it's going to look adorable sitting on my desk :)
If you've been following my blog for a while now, you'll know that I'm pretty stationery obsessed, and so you can imagine how much I really like this tape dispenser! I'm yet to own a cute tape dispenser, so I'm very glad to have received this item. I've also been on the look out for a tape dispenser for while, because I am not a fan of handling sellotape (obsessive compulsive disorder problems >.<) and using one will mean that I won't have to touch the sticky side of the tape much. What I like most about this item is the simplicity of the design; that's why I love Pusheen so much in general because the illustration/design of her character is very simple and that's just something I find appealing. There's no busy elements to distract away from this sweet little grey tabby cat. Another thing that I think is great about this tape dispenser is it's size. Most of the tape dispensers I've had when I was younger were mini ones that only fit in something the size of a roll of washi tape. This one looks like it will fit a full size sellotape in it.
Here's a close up of the gorgeous pouch, because I wanted to show you guys the pretty pusheen zip charm (or whatever they are called)! Even though gold is not really my thing, I can't deny that it goes so well with the pink, gold and grey, and these three colours are very popular at the moment. You can't browse through Pinterest without spotting some homeware or stationery in this colour combo, and that's because they look so lovely together! Something that I like about this pencil pouch is that it's colour is something a little bit different compared to the overall aqua/turquoise colour scheme of the rest of the box. I mean, I know that gold is also very prominent throughout the contents, but pink isn't and I like the variety :) Colours aside, I love this item! I am always in need of cases like these to store stationery or make-up bits in, and the shape and length of this Pusheen pouch makes me think it would be great for make-up brushes. What would you use it for? Oh, and I like that the zip doesn't just run along the top of the pouch, but also a little down one side which makes it easier to get things in and out of it.
JUST LOOK HOW BEAUTIFUL THIS LETTER SET IS!? I literally squeeeeed when I spotted this item whilst unboxing my Spring Pusheen Box! I love love love it!! There have been so many items in this box that have been perfect for my particular hobbies and interests, and here is another one. I am a snail-mailer, a penpal, a lover of letter writing, of receiving and sending post, and as a result, of pretty letter paper!! I think this set is just gorgeous, everything from the designs of the paper, to the lovely pastel shades of the envelopes, plus the most adorable sticker seals ever! It's so tough to choose which of the letter sheets I prefer, but oh my gosh, do I love that bunting one! The only downside to this item, well not a downside really, but I wish it was bigger. It's a mini letter set, which is fine but I prefer A5-ish sized paper because I write a lot and my hand-writing isn't as neat and small as I wish it was! I wish there was more of each sheet & envelope too because I almost don't want to use this letter set, and if there was more I could be persuaded to give away some in my snailmail. I have been after a mouse pad for a while now, to use on my new desk (when I eventually finish decorating, it's taking me months and months to get around to doing it, and my desk is currently living in the hallway in a huge flatpack box which is taking up all the space, along with several other Ikea boxes, oops!). Seriously, how sweet are these little gold Pusheens!? The item above is just listed as 'Pusheen clips' on the little information postcard that you get inside your box. What it actually is, is a sort of chain banner along which are all of these pusheen clips, that you can use to hang up photographs or whatever else you want display on the wall. As adorable as this item is, it's not actually something that I can see myself using. I'm much more a fan of the rope photo banner thingies. The annoying thing about this item is what the clips make it quite weighty so it's not something that you are going to be able to attach to the wall with tape or blue-tac. There is a metal ring at either end of the chain that you can hang up on a little nail/hook. Another annoying thing is that my item actually arrived broken! When I attempted to take it off the card you can see above, I found that the other end of the chain with the hoop on the end was unattached :( Luckily because it's made of chain, I could use some pliers to re-attach the links, which is good because I'm probably going to give this to a friend :)
I know I'm freakin' out about every item in this box guys, hahaha... but LOOK. AT. IT!!! I am in love with this design! How flippin' cute is Pusheen though!? I can't stop AWWWW'ing aloud whenever I look at this blanket!! Looking at the photo above is actually making it fairly tough to concentrate on writing now XD So what do I love about this item: everything. I love the pastel colours, I love huge Pusheen, I love that the design chosen matches the theme of the box with the celebratory balloons, I love the main colour of the blanket (I am such a fan of this colour!), but most of all, I love how soft the material is. It feels amazing, oh and it's awesome that this blanket is thin so it's perfect for all year round! I don't hate the grid pattern on this blanket but I personally think the design would look better without it. How about you? Are you a fan of grid patterns? It just reminds me of Maths at school, and omg I suck at that! All in all though, it's a 10/10 for me on this throw blanket!
Please ignore the delightful scars on my right foot... this is what happens when you are clumsy and you walk around with bare feet 90% of your life, oops! Annoying unphotogenic foot aside, these slippers are super cute! Unfortunately, I personally have really never liked this style of slipper, that you just slip your foot into (well obviously :D). I trip over my feet all of the time, so I prefer a slipper that isn't going to make it even easier for me to do this, when they're slipping on and off my feet whenever I walk. Also to make the slippers cater for several shoe sizes, Pusheen Box has opted to offer size ranges, rather than individual sizes, if that makes sense. So these are a Small and they fit any size from a 4-6 or something like that, and I've found that they are actually too big for my feet. I'm never going to use them, so if any of my friends reading this want them, please let me know :) Still, they are a great quality item and the material inside them is cosy. I love that they have included little ears in the design too!
Okay, I'm really sad about this item, and to be honest, it is one of the reasons I didn't immediately blog all about this box when I first received my Spring edition Pusheen Box. You can't really tell on this photo, but I've taken a close up to show you after I've explained! Basically, my water bottle arrived with a huge scratch through the design, so that obviously ruins it :( I cannot tell if this was product of the bottle moving around inside the box during transport, but in my opinion, this wasn't really possible because of how packed in everything was, there wasn't much room for the items to move around really, albeit there was a little more free space than there usually is. But I seriously think that someone packed the item into my box without having quality-checked it first, and that is really not on, especially when you are paying a lot for the subscription! I was absolutely gutted about this damage, because this item would have literally been my joint favourite item, along with the letter set. I just adore it so much! :( I love the colour, the design, the shape, the patterns on the balloons, the little gold bow tied around Pusheen, the fact that it's made of stainless steel. Ugh, I'm so disappointed.
It's hard to see the scratches clearly because of how bright the room was when I was taking my photos, but you can see it enough :( Although it's not a huge scratch and I can still use the item, it's just not acceptable to receive items like this. I emailed CultureFly about getting a replacement item, but they told me that there were none left in their warehouse, and it's silly to me that a company wouldn't make a few extras to deal with these sorts of problems. However they did offer me a $7 refund, which I think is pretty low for the quality of this item, which I could see being sold for anything between £15-20, but taking into account that it was part of a subscription box, I guess I'm happy that I got some sort of refund. I'm still going to use this item because the scratch is only noticeable close up and I'm not going to waste such an adorable bottle, that's perfect for keeping drinks cold in the hot months. I hope this sort of thing doesn't happen again because up until this point, Pusheen Box have been spot on with their quality and packaging, and I've never had a damaged item before this box, where I suddenly get two 'faulty' items!!
I'm always impressed how Pusheen Box keep coming up with new and unique ideas for their box themes, and especially for the designs of their matching vinyl figures. Every box comes with a figure, and as a toy/figure collector, I am a big fan! This time, they have gone for a celebratory themed figure, complete with balloons to fit in with the design of the other items in the box. It is giving me birthday vibes, and I totally wish that I'd have shared this post before my birthday so that I could have used this figure in my social media posts! My favourite feature of this figure is the super colourful balloons. I like that they are so bright and eye-catching, and it just makes the figure very cheerful to look at. I do like the pink base, but then again, I think it would have been better for them to go with another colour since there's already a pink balloon, and more colours are always better! I also wish that the 'strings' of the balloons weren't covering Pusheen's eye because it bugs me a little whenever I notice it. Anyway, this is another fantastic figure and can't wait to display it on a shelf along with the ones I've gotten in my previous boxes. So cute!
So that was the Spring 2018 Pusheen Box! It was another fabulous box and it's always a delight to receive, despite having to pay customs fees each time T_T *cry cry*. Each edition comes with the most lovely items, that are always useful and very much tailored for adults, which is great! Even though I got a few damages inside my box this month, I would still recommend it to anyone who loves cats or just cute things in general! I think the box has something to suit every taste, and I can't imagine anyone who is a lover of adorable things being unhappy with it's contents. My favourite thing about the Pusheen Box is the colour schemes and how, for the most part, the items are designed in pastel shades. I'd love to hear all about what you guys think of the items in this box in the comments :) I'll also be sharing my Summer Pusheen Box later this month, so keep a look out for that. Apologies again that it's taken me so long!
Thankyou for reading!

OH my Gosh how cute was this spring box?! First of all, I'm so gutted that your bottle arrived the way it did! I don't think it was damaged on journey, it looks like that was a stock issue! It's pretty shocking they only refunded you $7 when 1. as you stated these can sell for twice that price online and 2. you paid a heavy import too! You buy this box all the time, you're a loyal customer. Just seems like a shit excuse... :*
ReplyDeleteOtherwise this box was so adorable and they put so many cute items in there! :D I always wanted to get the Pusheen box, but never did. :(
