Pucky Monster Babies Unboxing

HAPPY HALLOWEEN EVERYONE!! It's my favourite holiday of the year, the day when everybody gets their spook on! As someone who's always leaned more to the alternative side, I am a big fan of all things macabre and scary. Horror is my favourite genre and my bedroom is decorated with skulls and witchy things and other ghoulish icons all year round. I love that for the month of October, everyone joins in with celebrating all things spooky, and I can spam all of my social media with halloweeny stuff :) Not that I can't do that anyway, but you know what I mean, haha! One of the best things about Halloween Time, in my opinion, is the mash up (*instantly starts singing The Monster Mash*) of cute and spooky, aptly coined spoopy by the internet... I just adore seeing chibified versions of 'terrifying' characters, and also kawaii ones in fancy dress. What's not to love about Kirby as a pumpkin or a tiny Freddy Krueger surrounded by candy!? Today's post is going to be shouting out to the spoopy, as well as one of my most loved things ever: toys/collectable figures! I hope you all enjoy reading and have a wonderful Halloween night!!

A box showing two blind boxes by the company PopMart, titled Pucky Monster Babies and featuring a character dressed as a pumpkin black cat

If you follow me over on instagram, you will most probably be aware of my latest obsession when it comes to blind box figures. I have known Pucky Babies existed for a while, but I didn't know you could get them fairly easily here in the UK until a few months ago. Pucky Babies are a series of super adorable characters brought to us by the company, Pop Mart. There's so many varieties of the Pucky Babies blind boxes available, and I was lucky enough to stumble upon some that are perfect for the spooky season just in time for Halloween :) I was going to blog about them earlier in the month, but I've not found the time between trying to watch as many horror movies as possible and also preparing for NaNoWriMo, which starts tomorrow! Ahhh! Anyhow, here I am now showing off the lovely figures I got inside my Pucky Monster Babies boxes!

Before I reveal the figures, I just wanted to mention that this version of the Pucky Babies figures has 12 different ones to collect, and two hidden/mystery figures. I love when blind boxes have mystery chase variants, despite the fact that it's super irritating when you are trying to complete an entire set and can't seem to find any of them! My favourite of the ones available are the Pumpkin Black Cat (the one you can see on the box), Wolfman Poko, and the Forest Sorcerer; however, they are all so pretty and detailed that I have a mighty urge to try and collect every one of them now :D So, who did I get??

A photo of a figure by PopMart of a baby dressed in a pumpkin black cat costume for halloween

YAY!! It must be my lucky day! Halloween must love me as much as I love it, haha! I got the Pumpkin Black Cat figure in the first box I opened!! And isn't it a little stunner? What a eye-catching figure! I am obsessed with how vibrant it is, and there is so much to look at with all that detail. It has such a creative design! My most favourite feature of all has to be the tiny cat ears and whiskers, but of course, I can't not highlight that kitty scarf! I love polka dots, too and black and purple is such a lovely colour combination :) I really like how even though there's only two little buttons on the Pucky Babies tummy, they've made each have different coloured button holes or whatever those holes in the centre are called.

A photo of three figure baby in blanket figures. One is green, another is pink and a third is purple, and sitting inside a pumpkin bucket for halloween

It was such a marvellous surprise to discover these miniature babies inside the box along with the main figure (even if I have no idea where I'm going to store them so I don't lose them!). It's impressive that you get three of them, so you can choose whichever one you like best to sit inside the pumpkin bucket/basket. I opted for the green one, since that's my favourite colour. It's a lovely touch that they are pastel when the rest of the figure has such bold colouration. Which tiny pastel baby would you chose?

A photo showing a figure of a baby dressed in a black cat pumpkin costume for Halloween

I adore how photogenic Pucky Babies are and I cannot wait to share them on my dedicated toy photography instagram. You'll be seeing these little guys even after the night is through, because I'm not ready to let go of Halloween just yet :D The quality of these figures is so another thing that has me so impressed. The paintjob/finish of the vinyl is so smooth, and the figures themselves are heavy and sturdy, especially for figures that are inexpensive to buy! AWWW, just look at that tiny mouth, and little triangle nose. It reminds me of Snufkin from The Moomins for some reason, so it makes me smile whenever I look at the nose! I really like that the scarf cat has a triangular nose as well! Let's check out the other spoopy cutie I unboxed...

A photo showing a figure of a baby dressed as a vampire for halloween.

I am obsessed with the design of the cloak/dress that this little vampire is wearing!! The pattern is gorgeous and I would totally wear a dress like that! This adorable character wasn't a favourite of mine, but he's still fantastic and I couldn't be happier about adding him to my collection :) It took me until I did my photography for this post to realise this the figure has a huge white collar and that those are tiny pointed ears sticking out of the hood. I honestly thought at first glace that he was raising his arms in the air (that his ears were actually hands), almost like he was saying 'OoOooo' :D And I thought it looked more like he was excited! But oh my god, it's a collar, which makes me love the design even more!! (Can you tell I'm tired today?) and those little pointed ears make me think of elves, which I adore just as much as the more spooky mythical creatures. Are you team vampires or team elves?

a photo of a cute vampire figure showing a black cloak covered with pastel ghosts, hearts and bats

How fabulous is this cloak/dress though!? We are used to seeing vampires in their traditional black and red outfits, so I think it's fangtastic (I'm not even sorry...) that the designers at PopMart decided to incorporate some pastel colours into the look of their vampire, but still stuck to tradition by giving him the sweetest little red bowtie, and red eyes, which make his face stand out so much. I do have to admit that I think the thick blue trimming along the bottom of his cloak is a little random, but I don't hate it. The way it flares out along with the colour gives me octopus vibes. Don't you think? Furthermore, the flare makes me feel like he's in mid-twirl whilst dancing, and now I've decided that all the figures must be attending a Halloween fancy dress party or ball.

A figure of a baby wearing a vampire halloween costume

I know that his hood is supposed to be a vampire bat, but I think it looks more like a monster/alien, which is so precious! It reminds me of a homemade costume that doesn't quite look like what it's supposed to :D Have you ever had a homemade costume like that? The bat wings are so sweet, too! Another marvellous figure and after writing all about it, I am now 100% sure that I need more in my life! How else are we going to have a 'best dressed' competition at the Pucky Babies costume party??

A photo of two figures, one is wearing a pumpkin black hat costume and the other a vampire

These guys just look so cute together!! I love that I got two figures that are so different from one another, and I am delighted with just how intricate the designs are! PopMart figures are amazing and I can already hear my bank account screaming... but tell me, which is your favourite of the two?

I bought these figures from a website called Scout & Co, and I just wanted to thank them for packaging the blind boxes so well! Not only were they packed securely and arrived in perfect condition (which is not something that always happens with blind boxes!), but they also made the presentation so autumnal. Autumn is my favourite season so I was over the moon to open the box and be greeted the way I was.

A photo of box filled with brown shredded paper packaging, an autumnal fungi themed card and yellow tissue paper

So pretty, don't you think? Scout & Co have three varieties of the Pucky Babies blind boxes for sale, and they are all £11.99 per box, which is a great price :) If you want to treat yourself to some Monster Babies of your own, definitely check out their site. They have the Milk Babies, too, and the box for those is shaped like a milk cartoon!! I love that!

I hope that you enjoyed checking out these super sweet figures today :) It's been a while since I blogged about blind boxes, and I used to blog about them all the time! Those of you who have been reading my blog since I started it in 2015 will remember my tokidoki blind box posts. Does anyone miss those? Let me know if you'd like to see more posts like this again, because I am still an avid collector and have a lot that I could share with you all. That reminds me, I wanted to let those of you who love this sort of thing know that I've set up a tiktok dedicated to unboxing toys :) If that's something you want to watch, I'd really appreciate a follow. Again, Happy Halloween (or Blessed Samhain, to my fellow witchy folks)! Enjoy your candy and scary movies!!

Thankyou for reading!

Horror Movie Tag

Hello everyone! I hope all of you are having a marvellous weekend! It's 19 days into October and I'm only now posting something Halloween-y. This is shocking behaviour and I thought it was about time that I fixed it!! Over the last week or so, I've been trying to come up with spooky post ideas, so it was perfect timing for the lovely Kim over at Chimmyville to tag me in this Horror Movie Tag! Be sure to head over to her blog and check out her post :) I hope you all enjoy reading my answers!

A photo showing a VHS tape of the horror movie Dracula, with horror character figures sitting on top

1. What is the first horror movie you remember watching?

When I was around 10 or 11 years old, I was hanging out at my friends house and being the weird little vampire-obsessed kids that we were back then (totally not changed much, haha!), we decided to watch Bram Stoker's Dracula (1992). I felt like such a rebel because I knew I wouldn't have been allowed to watch it at home :D In all the excitement, we then wanted to watch another horror, and ended up choosing Alien (1979) next. Are there any movies that made you feel cool when you watched it as a kid?

2. What is your favourite horror movie?

My more well-known favourite horror movies are A Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors (1987), Rob Zombie's The Devil's Rejects (2005), and 2017's IT movie (Chapter 1). I also LOVE a much lesser-known horror by Wes Craven, The People Under the Stairs (1991) and a more recent fantastic, and often underrated, movie called The Witch / The VVitch: A New-England Folk Tale (2015). Any fellow Black Phillip fans reading? :D

3. What's your favourite horror movie genre?

I love slasher movies best. I also thoroughly enjoy a good old psychological horror/thriller, especially The Silence of the Lambs (1991).

4. What genre scares you the most?

I don't get scared by horrors, but there's definitely things that make me cringe (and not in a 'gosh, that's bad' kind of way). When it comes to some gore, I always have cover my eyes but of course, I'm peeping through my hands because I'm too curious for my own good, haha! One scene that comes to mind is from House of Wax (2005) when a character gets their Achilles tendon cut with scissors... eeeek!

5. What is the last horror movie you watched that actually scared you?

As I said above, I don't really get scared when watching horror. I just love them! But I've jumped a couple of times... I'm not a fan of that clown doll in Poltergeist (1982) that pulls the kid under the bed! I also once watched one of those dramatized 'based on a real story' style thrillers, called Megan Is Missing (2011) and there's a dead body scene in that which looked so realistic the first time I watched it that I jumped! Anyone ever seen this movie?

A photo showing a pile of Horror VHS movies, with tiny horror character figures sitting on top of them

6. Who is your ultimate Scream Queen?

I think Drew Barrymore was brilliant at the start of Scream (1996)… did you know that she was originally offered the lead role but she couldn't do it, so Neve Campbell was cast? I love Neve Campbell's performance though so I'm happy it worked out that way! I'm gonna have the iconic 'Hello Sidney' line stuck in my head for ages now XD One of the best horror movie intros ever!

Maika Monroe's role as lead character in It Follows (2014) is fantastic, too! I know it's not a movie, but Sarah Paulson is always epic in American Horror Story :) Who else watches the show? If so, do you have a favourite season? Mine's Season 4: Freak Show. I love Anya Taylor-Joy as well; she's fabulous in the Witch and Split (2017), and I can't wait to see her in more horror/thriller movies.

7. What's a concept that you'd like to see in horror?

I'm not sure, because to be honest I am a sucker for certain tropes, even if they've been done time and time again. What can I say? I'm a creature of habit :) It's always a welcome surprise to see a unique twist to the stereotypical storyline of most slasher movies though! I love unique concepts, such as the one for It Follows, which you really need to watch if you haven't already! Oh, and I would love a good cult movie, that isn't cheesy af. I've not watched Midsommar (2019) yet... If you have, what did you think?

I have started to enjoy sci-fi horror a lot more after discovering that they are not all about aliens... which are not really my cup of tea when it comes to horror. I enjoyed Splice back in 2009, for example. It would be great to see more like this, that have more focus on the science side of things, if that makes sense.

8. What is your favourite on-screen kill?

Oh wow, there's so many! What horror fan doesn't have a long list of favourites!? (or maybe I'm just weird...). To name a few: the scene in Child's Play 2 (1990) when the guy gets his eyes impaled in the factory's doll production line, the end of Hostel: Part 2 (2007) when the protagonist gets her own back!, the puppet scene in A Nightmare on Elm Street 3, Paris Hilton's characters death in House of Wax, the chair torture scene in (I think) Hellraiser: Deader (2005). I could list more... but I'll stop now before you'll all think I'm weirder than you already know I am XD

9. What's your favourite franchise?

I adore the franchise by Rob Zombie that includes House of 1000 Corpses (2003), The Devil's Rejects and I am yet to watch the newest addition, 3 From Hell (2019). RIP Sid Haig T_T. I am also a lover of all the A Nightmare on Elm Street movies. Most of the Hellraiser movies are awesome, too, as well as the first few Child's Play movies.

10. Who's your favourite horror director?

Wes Craven and Rob Zombie are my all-time favourites. Clive Baker too, of course, for Hellraiser. I know that Guillermo del Toro is more well-known for his creepy fantasy but the Spanish horror The Orphanage (2007) is brilliant and he's another of my favourite directors, so I'm including him anyway. Who else loves his work?

Well, those are my answers to the horror tag! I very much enjoyed writing about my favourite movie genre, and I now want to re-watch, for probably the 50th time, the horrors that I mentioned. However, I am currently doing a Horrorthon challenge, where I watch a horror movie that I have never seen before each day of October. I'm having a lot of fun with that, and I'll be sure to blog all about it at the end of the month. Are any of you guys doing a spooky movie marathon this month, whether it's a horror one or not? Before I finish up today's post, it's time to nominate some of my fabulous fellow bloggers to join in. I tag: Jess, Natalee, Eleanor , Vikki and Kiah to do the Horror Movie Tag. I'm looking forward to reading your answers guys! Feel free to answer this even if I didn't tag you, and please send me a link so I can have a read of your post :)

Thankyou for reading!

Makeup Revolution Halloween Products | Review

Hey lovelies! If you've been following my most recent posts, you may have noticed that I've been using some new makeup for the creation of my Halloween looks this year. In early October when I was browsing around for Christmas gift ideas and was on the hunt for some new darker nail polish shades, I came across the recent Halloween releases from the brand Makeup Revolution. I thought I'd give them a try, because I really like my eyeshadow palettes from the brand, and I also definitely like the price! Makeup Revolutuon is available at drugstores, like Superdrug, and has some great prices compared with other brands. This certainly doesn't mean that they are not the best quality, as I personally think that their eyeshadow is awesome and super pigmented! So anyhow, I thought I'd share a little review of the products from this new Halloween range that I picked up. I'm sad that this will be the last Halloweeny-themed post of the year for me T_T *cry cry*.

I was really happy with all of the products that I bought! I thought that it was fantastic too that my entire haul only cost me £14. All of the items had lovely presentation and packaging. Some of them were so pretty that I almost didn't want to use them! I mean, just look at the skull on top of the powder in the photo above! Isn't it fabulous!? The products that I got include: the Ghost Powder, the SFX Spectre palette, the Ghost Lights Highlighter, and the SFX Liquid Latex. Keep reading to find out more about them :)

Makeup Revolution Halloween Ghost Powder

Makeup Revolution Halloween Ghost Powder

Makeup Revolution Halloween Ghost Powder

First of all, how flippin' adorable is that ghost 'print'!? I really loved this little addition to the presentation! I love how pristine and bright the Ghost Powder is. There's even a little compartment to keep the application sponge in. Additionally, on the back of the case, there's mirror, so that's really handy for when you're out and about. The powder itself isn't very pigmented, and didn't show up too well on top of my base makeup like other white powders I've used in the past do, however for only £3 it made your face pale enough to create an awesome ghosty complexion. I had to re-apply it a few times but that's not too much of a problem. Having pale skin, I usually always apply a white powder over the top of my concealer and foundation, and I'll happily keep using this until I can replace my usual pressed powder by Manic Panic.

Makeup Revolution Halloween SFX Spectre Palette

This SFX Spectre Face Paint Palette was a massive upgrade from my usual cheap face paint from the Poundstore, the kind that you can barely see and have to layer over and over again to get a decent colouration! I wasn't sure what to expect and was a little worried that it would just be like the other face paints I've tried before. However, I was pleasantly surprised by just how great this palette was! Maybe it's because I've only ever used the £1 stuff so I have nothing else to compare it to, but it was super pigmented and bold.

I didn't know that you got eight different shades of paint so I was delighted with that! I removed the little plastic sheet that protects the paints for the photograph, but on it are the various names for each one. They are named after the special effects they help create: skin trauma, contour, bruise, fresh blood, vein, aged blood and the middle two are just listed as plain old black & white. I like how you get more black and white paint which are often used for larger areas in Halloween makeup designs, such as an entire white face or big black circles around the eyes. But I wish that you got more of the fresh and aged blood colours, since they are going to be used a lot too to create most spooky looks.

The pigment for these face paints is so strong as it is made specifically for special effects makeup and can be applied on top of liquid latex and the wax that is needed for making gory, realistic horror makeup art. I found that it applied on top of the Makeup Revolution liquid latex so well, and I can't wait to see how it works with a more advanced look. I used the two red shades mostly when creating my Creepy Clown look (oh and a little of the light brown 'contour' paint), and I loved the difference between the two bloods. The 'aged blood' was a colour similar to crimson, almost burgundy when it dried, and the 'fresh blood' was a vibrant shade that I can only describe as cherry red. I'd very much recommend this product and I'm looking forward to using it again next Halloween!

Makeup Revolution Halloween Ghost Lights Highlighter

This Ghost Lights Highlighter powder was my favourite product of the bunch. It is a lovely shimmery pearlescent cream/white colour, and I love how shiny it looks when you tint the case. The skull on top is rised too, versus the flat ghost on the Ghost Powder, which makes it look even more eye-catching! I really considered not using it or buying another just to keep and never use it! This powder didn't know with a sponge or anything to apply it with and the case doesn't include a mirror, but it still very nice packaging nonetheless. It looks super professional, and I was certainly impressed with my first ever highlighter.

I have been wanting to experiment with highlighter for a while but I just didn't know where to start. With this Makeup Revolution one only being £3, it was a great first product to practice with! It's not very bright but maybe this is because I didn't apply too much, I still need to have a play around with it. Although, if it turns out to not be very strong, that's okay since it will be great for everyday use then. I saw this product around on instagram a lot throughout October so it seems to be popular! Have you used it? If so, I'd love to hear what you thought of it in the comments.

Makeup Revolution Halloween Liquid Latex

The final product that I tried was the SFX Liquid Latex, but to be honest I didn't use it to it's full potential. If you read all about my Creepy Clown makeup that I did on Monday, you'll know that I forgot to buy some wax. I wanted to create a 'Chelsea smile', a big  smiley gash across either side of my mouth, but my attempt at making my own homemade wax didn't go to plan and so I had to improvise. Therefore, I didn't use much of the liquid latex, but I still used enough to be able to let you know what my first impressions were.

For only £2, I think you get so much product! You'd probably be able to create an entire look and still have some left over just by looking at how much liquid latex you get in the tube. I might try to find another bottle so I can stock up for next year (it's no longer available on the Superdrug website but it might still be for sale in stores). Just a tip: standard fake blood won't apply on top of the dried latex. I didn't realise this, so I should have purchased the matching Makeup Revolution SFX fake blood too. The liquid latex did it's job though; I experimented with the peeling effect as I was removing my makeup, and it looked very cool. Almost like I was tearing off my actual skin, haha! Something that I didn't like about this product is how strong the smell was, and it made my eyes water and sting a little even though I was painting it on near my mouth. I don't know if all liquid latex is like this though. Does anyone else know? I'll let you know next year anyway guys!

Overall, I'm super happy with my Makeup Revolution halloween range haul, and I wish now that I'd also purchased some of the other makeup just to try them out. I didn't buy the 'Dark Reign' eyeshadow palette because I wasn't too impressed by the shades available. They weren't screaming Halloween makeup at me, and I have similar colours in the palettes I already own. I expected it to be filled with the colours associated with Halloween, such as bright slime green and some dark blood-red shades. I love the products I did get though, and I hope you enjoyed reading about them :) You can still buy the Ghost Powder and the Ghost Lights Highlighter on the Superdrug website by the way!

This is Halloween

Yayy! It's officially my favourite day of the year! And so, I thought that I'd share a post with you all in celebration of this wonderful occassion. I usually go to a Halloween party either on the day or the weekend before, however this year I stayed at home which to be honest, suits little introverted me just fine. Being able to dance around the house listening to my Halloween playlist in my comfy PJ's, all toasty warm and not having to deal with the anxiety of having to go out has been perfect! I've had a lot of fun creating another spooky makeup look and pumpkin carving and watching a scary movie (there will be quite a few more watched before it's bedtime too!). This post will just be one of the rambling kinds, but I hope you all enjoy reading nonetheless :)

The first Halloweeny activity that I did today was to finish putting up my decorations. I had planned on getting my bedroom decorated earlier in the month, however lots of things in life like to get in the way of my productivity and motivation, so I ended finally doing that today. I am going to be leaving my spooky decor up until it's Christmas time so it's gonna be on display for at least a month, if not a little longer. When I set up my decorations in my bedroom, I usually create a combination of a Halloween display and a traditional pagan Samhain alter. Samhain is basically the original Halloween, the festival marking the coming of the darker, cold months and the end of the harvest. However, this year my decor is mostly Halloween-based since almost all of my stones and willow wand are stored away ready for starting the decorating of my new bedroom. So, anyhow here are some lots of photographs of my Halloween display!

On top of my chest of drawers, I have added LOTS of spoopy decorative pieces, including quite a few things from Wilkos: the bat garland that I've attached to my wall underneath my art print display, an array of different halloween tinsels, and some spooky character sequins/confetti. I have collected most of the other decorations, such as the little jack-o-lantern lights, the skull mason jar (a gift from my dad), the pumpkin 'fairy' lights and the frosted glass jar that has a face reminiscent of Jack Skellington's (a gift from my mom), over the last month or so from either local Poundshops or my hometown's Quality Save store (a store owned by the same company as B&M).

For the rest of the decor, I used various horror and halloweeny themed collectable vinyl figures from my ever-growing collection. Oh, and my Jack & Sally tsum tsums from the Disney store, both displayed sitting on top of a pumpkin and nearby an ugly green seasonal squash, both from Lidl. The adorable Halloween hello kitty plushie was a birthday present I got a few years ago from my best friend ♥ The Wednesday Addams art print is from a previous Spooky Box Club subscription, which you can read all about here if you're interested :) So, what do you guys think of my halloween display?

Before I show you guys my Halloween look, here is the Jack-O-Lantern face that I carved this evening. It's supposed to be a Cheshire Cat, but his mouth didn't quite go to plan. Can you tell what he's supposed to be though? Probably not, hahaha! I think he's very cute either way. Next to him, you can see my sister's very skillful work on her pumpkin. Can you believe this is the first one she's ever carved as well? She's super good at art unlike me but I think that's clear to see *insert embarrassed monkey emoji here*. My pumpkin looks great though with a tealight inside, on top of my drawers amongst my other Halloween decorations all lit up! I find  the soft orange flow very relaxing too so it will be nice to have them turned on whilst I'm laying in bed at night. Did you carve a pumpkin this year? If so, what pattern did you choose to carve? Carving a pumpkin is definitely one of my favourite things to do this time of year. I love the smell of fresh pumpkin too, not so much the taste though!

So finally, here's is my makeup look of the day! If you follow me on social media, you'll may have already seen it, but if not, ta-da!

This is Halloween | Halloween Blog

I am now a vampire! It's official. I have red eyes and pearly-white fangs and everything! ;) I actually did a vampire look last year for Blogtober, but I wanted to up my game this year and try something that I've been wanting to for years and years... contact lenses! LOOK AT MY EYES GUYS (I love random ryhmes)!! One of the only things that was really holding me back from experimenting with contact lenses was my fear of damaging my eyes. You hear all these horror stories about people stratching the surface of their eyes or having a lens get lost somewhere which means a trip of the hospital. However, I decided to brave my nerves as I have lots of friends who wear fashion lenses and they've never had a problem, plus they look so flippin' cool!

After watching a massive amount of contact lens related videos over on Youtube, I came to the conclusion that it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be; all the youtubers made it look easy and so I decided to buy some red contacts from the Terror Eyes range at Wildcat, because I'd heard it was a good brand. I was very happy with how bright they were! The fangs are from the same brand that I used for my previous vampire look, 'small sexy fangs' by Scarecrow. I wrote a review all about them last year, I love them!

As for the makeup that I used:

- My usual base makeup, Rimmel London Wake Me Up Foundation & Concealer (in Ivory)
- My new Makeup Revolution Ghost Powder, applied on top of my base
- Another new Makeup Revolution product, Ghost Highlight (this was actually the first highlight I've ever used!)
- For my eyes: white eyeshadow from my Makeup Revolution Redemption Eyeshadow 'Acid Brights' palette, Rimmel London black kohl pencil liner, Collection Extreme 24hr felt tip liner and Rimmel London Volume Flash mascara
- From my lips: Maybelline Color Sensational Mattes 'Divine Wine' Lipstick, and a tube of fake blood (applied using a cotton bud).

Other than the vampire-esque accessories that I bought, I decided to keep the makeup look very simple. Partly because I didn't want to add too much eye makeup that might irritate my eyes since this was my first time wearing the lenses, and also because I wanted the attention to be on my red eyes and the blood effect around my mouth. I am really really happy with how my completed vampire makeup looked! I actually felt good about myself, confident and in the mood to take selfies, which doesn't happen very often :) Let me know what you all think in the comments.

Now that my post is all done, it's time to go watch some horror movies. I'm thinking a classic one from the 80's, when most of my favourite horrors were released or maybe a Rob Zombie one because I absolutely adore his work! Horror fans, what's your favourite movie? If you don't like horrors, I'd still love to hear what your favourite non-scary movie to watch at Halloween time. Next time I blog it will be November... how is the year going by this quickly!! I hope you all had a lovely day, whether you celebrate Halloween or not :)

Thankyou for reading!

Halloween Look #5

Hey everyone! Another Halloween, Another Spooky Look :) At the moment, I'm pretty obsessed with the new version of Stephen King's IT, with the gorgeous Bill Skarsgard playing Pennywise the Clown. I've watched it three times now, and I'd happily watch it again and again! They've done such a great job with this movie; have you watched it yet? If not, you seriously need to! Because of my current obsession, I have been really wanting to create my own Creepy Clown look, and if you follow me over on Pinterest you may have noticed my regular pinning of inspiration for this. Today, I had a lot of fun creating my look and so I thought I'd share it with you all.

Halloween Look: Clown

If you're a new reader of my blog, you may be wondering why today's post is titled as number 5... last year I took part in Blogtober, where bloggers challenge themselves to share a post everyday of October. During this time, I shared four different Halloween make up looks: a Vampire, Wednesday Addams, a Zombie and my version of Regan from the Exorcist. I was determined to create at least one new costume look this year, and I'm really glad that I managed to. So, what products did I use?

Halloween Look: Clown

Today was my first time playing around with liquid latex, and it was definitely interesting. It was my intention to create a SFX (Special Effects) make up look, but silly me forgot to get some scar wax! I tried following a tutorial recipe to make some wax-like material myself using flour and vaseline, but it just didn't want to stay stuck to my face! But nevermind, I used my new Makeup Revolution SFX face paint palette, and some other cosmetics and things to make a look I was happy with :)

Products that I used to create my Creepy Clown look

- Makeup Revolution 'Mermaids VS Unicorns' Redemption Eyeshadow Palette
- Makeup Revolution 'Acid Brights' Redemption Eyeshadow Palette
- Makeup Revolution Ghost Powder
- Makeup Revolution Spectre SFX Palette Face Paint
- Makeup Revolution Liquid Latex
- Rimmel London Wake Me Up Foundation (Ivory)
- Rimmel London Wake Me Up Concealer (Ivory)
- Rimmel London Glam'Eyes Eyeshadow Palette 'Brixton Brown'
- Rimmel London Black Kohl Pencil Eyeliner
- Collection Extreme 24Hr Felt Tip Liner
- Loreal Paris Super Liner Blackbuster Liquid Eyeliner
- Maybelline Color Sensational Mattes 'Divine Wine' Lipstick
- Tube of Blood (from a local Pound Store)

Halloween Look: Clown

(1) To start off, I applied my usual everyday concealer & foundation. Then I applied the Makeup Revolution Ghost Powder on top, adding as much as was necessary to make my face the shade of white that I wanted.

(2) Because clowns are associated with colourful makeup, I decided to go for a bright purple and blue eyeshadow look, mixing together the two blue shades from the 'Acid Brights' palette by Makeup Revolution, and then applying the glittery purple eyeshadow from the 'Mermaid VS Unicorns' palette. Afterwards I put on my eyeliner, a line on top of my eyelid with a wing at the end using the Collection liquid eyeliner and using kohl pencil liner on my waterlines as well as under each of my eyes. I also used a thin makeup brush to add a little of the eye shadow colours under my eyes, to match with my eyelids.

(3) Next, it was time to create the iconic diamond shapes that are associated with clown makeup. I simply drew the outlines of these with my Collection liquid eyeliner, a triangular shape under each of the eyes and then again, from my eyelid up over my eyebrows.  After the outline was drawn, I then filled in the shapes using my Loreal blackbuster felt liner, which I also used to add some cute little black dots to the ends of these diamonds and the wings of my eyeliner.

(4) Now for the 'Chealsea Smile' look. For my base, I created a bruise-like effect and I did this by using some of the eyeshadows from my Revolution 'Acid Brights' palette. First, I used the burgundy shade, drawing a line where I wanted my 'cuts' to be and then smuding it. Next, I added a little of the dark brown eyeshadow from my Rimmel Glam'Eyes palette, as well as some black from the Resolution palette (smudging this too) until I was happy with the colouration of my 'bruise'.

(5) Over this line of eyeshadow, I applied the Makeup Revolution liquid latex. It is very runny so I decided to add a little to a bowl and use a makeup brush to paint it on. It tells you to apply the latex in layers, so I added a little and waited a few minutes for it to dye before then applying a second coat. The liquid latex is white when it comes out of the tube, but it dries completely clear.

Here are some of the pins that I found my inspiration from :)

(6) Doing the bloody bits is my favourite part! You need special SFX fake blood to apply over the top of the liquid latex, however I just one of those £1 tubes from the Poundstore so I had to apply it around the outside of the 'cut' that I'd created (I used cotton buds to do this). I made this very messy-looking because well, wounds are messy with jagged edges, so I wanted to create that look. This is perfect for me since I'm not the best at applying makeup, haha! I made it look like droplets of blood were dripping under the wound, and also under my lip.

(7) To colour-in the 'cut' itself, I went back to the Makeup Revolution face paint palette, which is specifically made for SFX makeup and thus it can be applied on top of the now dried latex. This palette has strong pigmented, great quality paints inside, of which shades are labelled based on the effects that they create, e.g. dried blood, bruise, fresh blood. I again used cotton buds for this part of the makeup. I added a layer of the lighter 'fresh blood' red first, then went over it with the paler brown shade, and finally opted for the 'dried blood' dark crimson red colour.

(8) I finished up this part of my face by adding a shade of lipstick that is the closest to crimson that I own, Maybelline's 'Divine Wine'. I really liked how this looked with the blooded cut effect surrounding it.

(9) The finishing touch that I did to complete my Creepy Clown look was to add a big bruise onto one of my cheeks, because I just felt like I needed something more. I used the same eyeshadow shades that I did previously as a base for my 'cut', the burgundy, brown and black. Then I used the dark red and pale brown face paints over the top, and then ta-da! I was fully transformed into a spooky Halloween-esque clown!

I can now finally show you what my Creepy Clown makeup looked like...

Halloween Look: Clown

(Yes, I used this adorable starry snapchat filter because by the time, I'd played around trying to create my own homemade wax and experimented with the latex and blood look, it was evening and the lighting was crap. Ooops #BloggerProblems. I really need to invest in softbox lighting!).

Halloween Look: Clown

What do you guys think of my Creepy Clown look? I totally should have added a red dot to my nose as this is a symbolic clown feature but I'm still really happy with how everything turned out. I now know what else I'll need to do to create an even better clown next year, and for someone who's not the best at makeup, I thought this was a great attempt (I hope!). Let me know what you think in the comments. Something that was really cool about the liquid latex is how gory it looks when you're removing it. It looks like you're peeling off layers of your skin! I decided to wear my Jack-O-Lantern dress to finalise my look, which you can read more about here. I'm so excited for tomorrow, and there will hopefully be another makeup look up for you all! Do you dress up for Halloween? What are you dressing up as this year?

Thankyou for reading!
