Harry Potter Notebooks From Poundland

Hi everyone! Today is the last day of National Stationery Week and I've been meaning to share with you guys some awesome notebooks that I picked up a couple of months ago, so I thought now would be the perfect time, as sort of my little tribute for this special week! I am a huge fan of stationery, and like most lovers of all things stationery-related, I'll admit that I have a bit of a hoarding problem when it comes to these things *glances over at the towering mass of Funko Pop! figures to my right, and the army of plushies surrounding me...* :D I have little will power when it comes to notebooks, even though I still own a plethora of unused ones; I cannot walk past any pretty notebook that catches my eye. And the problem only intensifies if it's fandom themed! So here's a post attributed to my mighty need to collect notebooks, and it's one for my fellow potterheads! I hope you all enjoy reading :)

A photo of two figures of Harry Potter characters, Snape and Hermione as a cat

Usually all of my stationery purchases occur when I occasionally venture out of the house to spend the day with my best friend and we go shopping somewhere; it's like my brain panics that it's going to be ages until I go out again and that I MUST stock up on new notebooks or something XD Retail therapy is a thing also. Otherwise, it will be when I'm browsing around online throughout the month and putting together my wishlist posts, and I cannot resist adding something to my cart. However this time around, I have YouTube to thank for helping me add to my notebook stash! I watch quite a few Harry Potter fandom channels because I'm a big ol' magical nerd, and I started seeing hauls popping up for Poundland's Harry Potter range. I was pretty surprised to see that Poundland had created their own line of wizarding world merch, and as soon as I discovered that this range included notebooks, I was super curious to get my hands on a few!

Being a spoonie, I don't get out as much as I'd like, and so I asked my mom to pick up a few notebooks for me the next time she went into town. She picked up all four notebooks that my local Poundland had in stock, but I think there's a few more designs available too that our small store didn't have at the time. They were around £2/£2.50 each which is an absolute bargain! I really wasn't sure what to expect considering they were manufactured by a £1 store, and whenever I've bought stationery from discount/bargain stores in the past, I can never be sure how good the product is going to be, quality wise. However what I'd seen of the designs had me optimistic, and I was super excited to see them for myself! Let me tell you all about them...

A photo of a Harry Potter notebook with the Hogwarts Crest on the cover and a figure of Severus Snape

So the first one is this gorgeous colourful Hogwarts crest notebook. I absolutely love how eye-catching the cover is, and how much detail it has! The patterns surrounding the crest makes me think of the banners that cover the stands for each House during a Quidditch match, and I think because of that for me this notebook cover just screams Hogwarts House pride! That's why I'm so relieved that the sigil for Ravenclaw could easily represent both an Eagle and a Raven. If you're new to my blog, I'm a Ravenclaw and I'm sure if you're a fellow fan of the franchise, you'll understand how annoying it is that so many merch brands seem to think that the representing animal for Ravenclaw is a raven >.< It bugs me that people always think it's an understandable mix-up since raven is in the name, but if that's the case then why do they always get Gryffindor correct with his lion sigil, instead of mistaking it for a Gryffin/Griffin... it's not called Liondor but they always get that one right? Hahaha okay, rant over XD Anyhow, I feel like the people on the Poundland design team for these products still thought that the mascot animal was supposed to be a raven, since there are little ravens in the blue Ravenclaw print surrounding the crest, but because they have tried to make it look fancy, the one in the Hogwarts crest ends up looking more like an eagle... and I'm obviously happy about that :D

As gorgeous as the print is, I cannot help but also be a little disappointed that the colours for Ravenclaw, blue and bronze are instead blue and grey, but it still looks cool and so I can ignore that I guess. Apparently there were no Potterheads hired for the design of this merch... oops.

The inside of a Harry Potter notebook with a print of the different Hogwarts Houses

Here's what the inside of this notebook looks like. It's difficult to see but the lines are actually a brown shade as well as the crest in the corner of the page, and they match the band around the notebook. I really like that they gave this notebook a brown band as it goes really well with the gold on the Hogwarts crest, and it gives the design a more old-fashioned vibe. It's nice that the details on the paper inside the notebook are brown too, because it makes a nice change from the standard black. I really like that the pages are simplistic in design, and they don't have a huge, busy, faded print across them like some notebooks do. It's all down to personal preference, but I much prefer just simple lined pages; having designs sometimes distracts me when I'm writing and I also have a tendency to doodle on or trace over the design when I'm bored, haha. Anyone else guilty of this?

One final thing that makes me love this notebook is that the cover includes the Latin part of the Hogwarts Crest :) Draco Dormiens Nunquam Titillandus translates to Never Tickle A Sleeping Dragon, so I always smile whenever I see this school motto XD And thus it is fabulous that it's on my notebook so I can have a giggle everytime I look at it!

A photo of a Harry Potter notebook featuring a newspaper design from the movies

The second notebook has a very awesome design, which whenever I look at makes me think about certain scenes in the books/movies, so that's always wonderful. Poor Harry! I really like all of the various fonts and lettering that they have chosen to include in this notebook's design. Just like the first notebook, it has so much detail. I like all of the little touches that make it resemble an actual newspaper, such as the page number, the issue number, reference to other articles to be found inside, etc. It's all very cool! I'm not so much a fan of the grey striped background that they've done, as I'd have preferred a more newspaper-esque one but I can see why they chose it... it matches the overall colour scheme well.

Something that I dislike about the cover is another fandom-specific related problem. I feel like the Quibbler, being the newspaper that typically publishes articles about subjects that are more unique and less likely to be shared in other wizarding newspapers, wouldn't have been sharing an article on 'How to Identify Mudbloods' or a wanted poster style story on Harry Potter. Considering Xenophilius Lovegood (Luna's dad) is the editor and a friend of Harry's and the members of the Order of the Phoenix, I don't think he'd have been publishing about Harry in this way, and so maybe the title on the notebook cover should have been The Daily Prophet instead, but it's again not a problem... I can still enjoy the design :)

A photo of the inside of a Harry Potter notebook featuring an advert from the Weasley Brothers shop

Even if I wasn't a fan of the cover, the design on the inside certainly makes up for it!! Yayy, it's dedicated to Fred & George's Weasleys' Wizard Wheezes business (haha, that sentence is a bit of a tongue twister to read aloud :D)! I love the bright yellow that Poundland has used, as well as everything else about the design. It's fantastic! The pages of this notebook are very plain in comparison, with grey lines and logo of 'The Quibbler' in the right corner, but as I said, I love simplistic designs so I'm more than happy with that.

A photo a book, Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, plus a notebook with a character, Sirius Black, on the cover

Notebook no.3 has to be my favourite design of the bunch! I am delighted with its cover, which is literally a perfect copy of the official wanted poster for Sirius Black in the movies. I really like the font and the wording of this poster and I have almost bought it to display on my art-print wall several times, but now I have this notebook instead! I don't know why, but I love the aesthetic of historical wanted posters, printed in black-and-white, with typewriter-esque lettering on, and an almost faded sepia background that makes me think of old parchment. A little detail that I think is fabulous is the way they've coloured the title letters, it somewhat reminds me of watery ink.

So this notebook cover just appeals to my tastes, and I think it looks marvellous! I like that the photo is much more clear to see than the one of Harry on the front of the Quibbler notebook. I don't know what more to say about this cover, than it makes me want to buy several more of the same notebook :D Do any of you guys also have a problem with buying multiples?

The inside of a Harry Potter notebook featuring the Marauder's map from the books and movies

As you can see, this notebook also has a more detailed, amazing inside/back of cover, featuring The Marauder's Map! I am really over the moon with the design of this notebook and this addition to the inside is just the icing on the cake as they say. Can you all tell how much a fan I am of the Prisoner of Azkaban?? :D It's my favourite of the movies, and joint favourite book along with Half Blood Prince. I couldn't not like this notebook to be honest! I love the colouration of the map, with the crimson red and browns, and I love all of the stories surrounding it, and I have a feeling that I'm not going to be able to write in the notebook at all as I don't ruin it!

The paper in this notebook is similar to the others in detail, but has faint black lines and a Harry Potter logo in the corner. If I had to name something that I think could be improved about this notebook, it would be this logo. It would have been cool for it to be an illustration of the Grim or a black dog in general to symbolise Sirius' Animagus form. But oh well!

A photo of a Harry Potter notebook with prints of the different Hogwarts House crests

This is the final notebook that I bought in my little Poundland haul, and it's another Hogwarts House theme. Compared to first notebook I talked about which is very bold and bright with it's colours, this one is more muted/faded, and although I like both cover designs, I think I prefer the more vibrant one. However, this one's design is still excellent for its own reasons. I love the muted colours because they remind me of pastel shades, which I love. I like that all of the House sigils are featured as well as the school crest. Something that is a great detail are the knight's helms at the top of each House symbol :)

My favourite thing about the design of this cover is that it looks really old. It has an almost scuffed look like a textbook that has been so well used by hundreds of students over the years that it has lost its shiny, brand new look and the cover is marked, faded and close to looking tatty. It makes me think of the more ancient books that might be hidden around Hogwarts school, and it is aesthetically-pleasing for its historic vibes. I am as much a history fan as a fantasy fan, so I'm all about this cover design. Even though the Ravenclaw on this notebook's Hogwarts crest is clearly a raven.... but lets ignore that XD

The inside pages of a Harry Potter themed notebook, printed with the name Harry Potter

This notebook has the most boring inside design of the lot, but I'm not too bothered to be honest how the inside looks. I mean, it's amazing to have fancy designs inside but I'm not mad if they don't. A pretty notebook can make you more inclined to write for sure, but I write a lot so I'm just happy to have an abundance of paper available! Another small change that I think would have been nice for this design would have been to make the elastic band around it tan or brown in colour to go with the scheme of the notebook, but again this is a minor detail that isn't really important when the notebooks were such a brilliant price!

A photo of four Harry Potter themed notebooks

So here is my complete Poundland Harry Potter notebook haul! The store released lots of other bits and bobs in this collection, such as mugs and stickers and more! Look how beautiful all of them look together!? I love the thought that has gone into making several different designs, and even thought there's little things I'd change and no-one seems to know the correct Ravenclaw crest, I'm still very happy that I own these notebooks!

One of my favourite things about them is that Poundland dedicated to add an elastic band around the notebooks, and I much prefer notebooks that have these since I am constantly scribbling down notes on miscellaneous notelets and memos, and then popping them inside my notebooks. It's a very common thing in my house to hear me swearing to myself because I've picked up one of my notebooks quickly and all of the papers have fallen out and spread across the floor XD So these bands help that not happen as easily and for that I am very thankful! My final questions to all of you are: which is your favourite notebook, and why? For those of you who hadn't heard about the Poundland Harry Potter merch before reading my post and want to grab some wizard-worthy goodies for yourselves, I hope that your local store still has items in stock :) Let me know if you manage to get some stuff, I'd love to see your haul!

Thankyou for reading!

Game of Thrones Season 8 | My Thoughts & Predictions

Hey guys! For the last few days, I haven't been able to stop breaking into randomly humming the Game of Thrones theme tune at all hours of the day so I think that's enough confirmation of just how excited I am for the last season of my favourite TV show! I'm currently avoiding social media because the web is dark and full of spoilers! Fans (and non-fans alike) will know that GoT airs on Sunday night, and will be trending on every platform right now! Here in the UK, it doesn't air on Sky Atlantic until Monday night and although I could probably find a stream online, I like to watch it with my dad on TV :) Anyhow, since I can't stop thinking about the franchise and the fact that this is it (well, other than the rumoured spin-off's), I thought I'd write down my predictions and hopes for my favourite and most despised characters, #forthethrone. I'll probably state a lot of things that my fellow fan are already thinking, but if you have any other theories (or even if you share mine), I would love to hear all about them in the comments.

I cannot wait for tonight!! However, I am nervous af for what's to come over the next few weeks T_T Oh, and just a little disclaimer, but I will be referring to the series of events that took place in the books as well, just a heads up in case any of you guys haven't read them yet, because there is the potential for spoilers!). I hope you enjoy reading anyhow!

Before I get into my fandom rambling, I just wanted to mention how happy I am with how the photographs I'm going to be featuring in today's post turned out! :) If you're a regular reader of my blog, you'll likely know that one of my hobbies is toy photography, and lately I've been experimenting with creating winter scenes featuring my Game of Thrones Funko Pop figures. You can see more of my toy photography over on my dedicated Instagram. So, where to start?

I think I'll begin with my thoughts on what everyone is talking about the most! Who is going to be sitting on the Iron Throne in the end!? My favourite characters from the series are Tyrion Lannister and Arya Stark, so naturally I would love to see Tyrion on the Iron Throne. I feel like Arya Stark is better suited to being her true ninja self, but I feel like Tyrion is such a kingly character, if that's even a real descriptive word. He's intelligent and just, and I think he will be a great ruler. There are lots of other characters though that I love and think will also be awesome as King or Queen, such as Daenerys Targaryen. She's badass and has fought so hard to establish herself a strong and worthy ruler in a world where the places of power are typically reserved for men. I would love to see her ruling in the end of course, it's just that Tyrion is my main man so I can't not hold out hope that he will get to reach his full potential.

With the way that the show is going though, like everyone else, I have my predictions of how things are going to go down, but with George R.R. Martin, the author of the original book series that inspired this amazing show, The Song of Ice and Fire novels, overseeing the production of the show, you never know if things are going to go in favour of the most beloved characters or if they are going to be torn from us in the most ruthless of circumstances! I am excited for the drama but also scared for my sanity and heart :') But yeah, I feel like with the way things are playing out on screen, we might see Jon Snow, who with regards to the traditional line of succession, once he knows his true identity might want to sit on the Iron Throne, even though I feel like the Jon we know and love would much rather not be a ruler.

That being said, I think that there's a good chance of Jon Targaryen being the one sitting on the Iron Throne in the end, maybe with Queen Daenerys by his side, although who knows what will happen with their blossoming romance when they realise that they are really Auntie and Nephew. I am wondering if they are going to part ways and if Daenerys will go back over the sea to Essos to be ruler over the cities she liberated, and Jon will stay in Westeros. But Targaryen's aside, I think that Sansa is going to stay where she is and become Queen of the North! What do you guys think?

I'm not sure why, but throughout the story when it comes to the development of Lord Varys, I have always had this feeling that he would, in a surprising turn of events, somehow end up as ruler of the Iron Throne, or at least Hand of the King or something... I don't know, I'd just like to think that he is going far, and Game of Thrones is a series that likes to shock us all! Are there any characters that you think no one suspects of ending up in high places, that will get there whilst everyone is focused on the 'top dogs'?

Other than the fight for the throne, there are lots of things that I find myself puzzling over constantly! I have avoided watching the trailer for Season 8 because I don't want to go in to this last season with any idea of how things are going to go down. So one of the main themes of the questions on my mind is what is going to happen to Tormund Giantsbane! He's gorgeous and hilarious and I love him, and if anything has happened to him, I am going to riot!! :D Who's with me? I think it would be absolutely fantastic if he is asked by Jon to be his Hand, if he ends up on the throne.

Are you on Team Brienne & Tormund, or Brienne & Jaime Lannister? I know it would be lovely for Tormund to win the heart of the beauty waiting for him back at Winterfell and because of how much I like his character, I cannot help routing for that outcome. But when it comes to Jaime and Brienne, there was definitely something special there. You could really feel this in the books, and even though the show gave us inklings of the connection and tension between them, it didn't do it in the way that the books did, which makes me think that David Benioff and D.B. Weiss have something else in mind (sorry Brienne & Jaime shippers)!

Okay, so dragons!! What about the dragons!? They are undoubtedly one of the most amazing aspects of franchise and after the tragedy that befell Viserion last season, it has made us all a little scared about what the future has in store for Drogon & Rhaegal. We are all suspecting a battle of the dragons, and it's going to be hard to watch brother fight brother, and for Daenerys to have to face all of this. I have been surmising that Brandon's status as the Three-eyed Raven will come into play, and he may be able to somehow control Viserion... I don't know, but I want to see that! I am also waiting for the moment when Jon will ride on the dragon that is named after his true father. Rhaegal has been my favourite dragon from the start, not gonna lie at first this was mostly because he was green and bronze and green is my favourite colour haha, but I'm hoping that nothing bad happens to him!

Something that we all expect from Game of Thrones is that fan-favourites and main characters will be killed! It happened with Sansa's Direwolf, Lady, and with so many of the Starks, and I'm assuming that it's only a matter of time before it happens again :'( I have a heart-breaking feeling that Jon might not survive! I am hoping he will because he was revived from the dead for a reason, but maybe that reason will be fulfilled by him and afterwards he may not survive. It will suck because he's a fantastic character, however with him being the 'rightful' heir to the Seven Kingdoms, Daenerys cannot take the Iron Throne like she wanted unless she rules along with him. This will be the perfect outcome for all of you Dany and Jon shippers, but we all know that Game of Thrones can be merciless and I feel like they won't get a happy ending, but who knows?

*warning: spoiler territory* Daenerys and Jon got it on last season, and although the show has seemingly made it clear that Dany cannot have children after what happened with the blood magic, I feel like the writers/producers made a decision to not include a scene from the books that gave fans hope that this might not be the case, maybe to add to the shock factor if things go the way I am thinking they will. In the books, after Drogon came to the rescue for Dany when the Sons of the Harpy ambushed the fighting pits, and she was carried off to the place where the Dothraki would come across her, she was wandering for a long time through the grasslands trying to get back to Meereen, and during this time, if I remember correctly, she experienced somewhat of a period, which suggested that maybe everything wasn't as it seemed, and that there might be hope that she was healing. This is making me curious about whether Jon and Daenerys will have a child! We will see!

I'm going to stop rambling now even though I have so much more to say, because this post is long enough as it is! Thankyou if you've read it all the way to the end :D Let me know if you would like more Game of Thrones content in the future, as I really enjoyed nerding out for you all! Another thing that I have to say briefly because I feel like it deserves a mention... I hope that Arya is the one to kill Cersei in the end, because we all know we cannot wait for that scene XD And so, I will conclude today's post here. I am so looking forward to tonight's episode!!

Thankyou for reading!

Should Severus Snape Have Been A Ravenclaw?

Hi everyone! Did you guys know that there are several days in March that are dedicated Hogwarts House Pride days? If you follow me on social media then you'll have likely found out that yesterday was Ravenclaw's special day, because I was somewhat spamming my Instagram with related posts! If you've followed my blog for a while. you will know that I'm a big Harry Potter fan, and if you hadn't already gathered, the house that I was sorted into on Pottermore was Ravenclaw, which was fabulous news to me since I'd always related most to that house and would want to be sorted into it if I ever went to Hogwarts... unfortunately my letter is still lost in the post T_T. Luna Lovegood is one of my favourite characters of the franchise too, so it's cool to be in the same house as her! My other favourite character is Severus Snape, and so it may seem like this post is bias but it's totally not XD

Anyhow, I've always thought that Snape fit well into Ravenclaw House and with it having been Ravenclaw Pride Day yesterday, I was inspired to write all about it! I hope you guys enjoy reading, whether you're a fellow Potterhead or just curious about my thoughts  I apologise now for how rambley this post might get!

The traits attributed to the Ravenclaw House are Wit, Wisdom and Intelligence. You are sorted into houses not necessarily because you possess the attributes that were favourable to each of the four founders, but because you value these traits most. There are lots of characters in J.K. Rowling's Wizarding World who also show strong characteristics that are highly valued by another house than the one they were placed into during the sorting ceremony on their first night at Hogwarts school. I feel that at the age of eleven most people don't value what they necessarily would with more exposure to the world and life experience, and that as they grow towards adulthood, they may change considerably and not value the traits they once did. But since they were already sorted, their lives at school will be influenced by the presumed character traits of their allotted houses, and they may not be able to experience opportunities or mingle with peers truly alike to themselves (since students spend the majority of their time at Hogwarts amongst their housemates, in lessons and also in the common room during free time) if they were sorted into a house that was reflecting of their eleven year old self's wants or views. Maybe the sorting hat is also capable of seeing into the future, who knows...?

When it comes to Severus Snape at eleven years old, from the little insight we have into his childhood, he seemed to be a loner and maybe he felt insignificant as a consequence, and so he would have probably valued ambition (which is one of the qualities desirable to Slytherin House) because he wanted to become more than he was and to excel at school/in life. Maybe he did forever value this trait most of all but I feel from what we learnt about Snape's character throughout his later years at school, he had both a thirst for learning and was a very talented and intelligent young wizard. These would be qualities very well suited for Ravenclaw House.

Professor Dumbledore says in a scene that Harry witnesses through the pensive in 'Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows' (Chapter 33, Page 555), 'You know, I sometimes think we sort too soon...'. And I definitely agree! What he says prior to that is in relation to Severus being braver than Igor Karkaroff, and it would seem that he is hinting towards him being more suited to Gryffindor, but this may not be the case. There are plenty of characters in the story that are not in Gryffindor and show great bravery; Luna Lovegood, for example.

Ravenclaw candle, Harry Potter novels and a Pop vinyl of Snape

Anyhow, I'm getting carried away with myself :D Let's go back to the Ravenclaw House traits and my thoughts on how Severus Snape seems to me very suited to this house.

Intelligence & Wisdom

In 'Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince' (more so in the book than the movie, which I personally feel didn't do justice to the book! What do you guys think?), we learn all about young Severus' Advanced Potion-Making 'textbook' that Harry borrows from the copies available in Professor Slughorn's Potions class. In this book, the young wizard has annotated all of the spells with his own tips and advice, going against the experienced author's guidelines for the measurements of ingredients and such. Harry follows these notes and makes the best potions in the class! To figure all of this out, the young Snape would have had to spend a lot of time researching and practising, and I can just imagine him hiding in the toilets or in empty rooms across the castle, spending all of his free time working on perfecting his potions, and it reminds me so much of Hermione (who was very close to being sorted in Ravenclaw herself)! His iconic quote just shows how much passion he has for potions, 'I don't expect that you will really understand the beauty of the softly simmering cauldron with its shimmering fumes, the delicate power of liquids that creep through human veins, bewitching the mind, ensuring the senses.' - gosh, I love reading this scene *fangirling* :D

The teenage Severus also created his own spells, which he recorded in his textbook, and even though some of them were rather nasty like the Sectumsempra one that Harry uses on Draco, it still shows a lot of skill and intelligence for someone of his age to be able to do advanced spell-work like this. These are just some of examples, there is no denying that Snape is a clever guy!

Oh, another example is in the fact that Snape could literally be the Professor for teaching so many different subjects at Hogwarts! He's fantastic at Potions, and he shows himself throughout the story to be very skilled at Defence Against the Dark Arts. I also think that he would be good at Herbology too, because I imagine that he collects a lot of the ingredients for his Potions storeroom himself, so he must be very knowledgeable about plants and magical creatures, etc., to be able to source materials, and this could likely be applied to growing the plants.

Wisdom is very similar to intelligence, but not all wise people are scholars! Intelligence can be learnt but wisdom is all about having the abilities to apply knowledge well and to possess good decision-making skills, etc. That is probably not the best explanation but I want to get straight to my thoughts on how Severus shows this quality :) Because wisdom and intelligence often go hand-in-hand, my example can probably be used as an argument for both, but oh well :D One of the reasons that I think Severus Snape shows great wisdom is in the fact that he effectively manages to convince Voldemort of his loyalty to him, feeding him information but not enough to allude to the fact that he is actually manipulating him. Yes, this could be seen as being cunning as well (another Slytherin associated trait), but he's doing it for a good reason, to help Dumbledore in defeating Voldemort. Snape has to make a lot of decisions to keep the façade up. I think this shows him to very capable when it comes to wisdom anyway!

Wit

Well, I mean we all know how sassy af Severus Snape is! Some of the stuff he comes out with is so witty, I love it! Wit by definition is the 'ability to use words in a clever and humorous way'. Sarcasm, when done well, can certainly be considered a type of wit. Oscar Wilde's quote, 'Sarcasm is the lowest form of wit, but the highest form of intelligence' popped into my mind just now. Severus Snape's sarcastic responses are iconic to his character, and one of the reasons I like him so much. I love some good ironic humour! Since I re-read Chapter 33 of the Deathly Hallows when writing notes for this post, I'll use this example... Snape's response after Dumbledore has asked him to be the one who kills him instead of Draco: 'Would you like me to do it now?, asked Snape, his voice heavy with irony. Or would you like a few moments to compose an epitaph?'. Something only Snape would come out with during a discussion like this, and it made Dumbledore smile, so he seemingly is as much a fan of Snape's sarcasm as me :D

Creating good riddles and puzzles is something that shows strong wit as well in my opinion, and Snape is good at this! It annoyed me that they decided to not put this into the movie for 'Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone' but in the books, all of the Professors at Hogwarts come up with way to protect the stone, and Snape's is the Potion Puzzle. You can read more about it here if you've not read the book :) but he creates a riddle of sorts that Hermione solves so that Harry can drink the correct potions and advance in to the next room.

Creativity & Individuality

Even though this isn't one of the traits that is mentioned by the sorting hat, it is a known quality that is associated with Ravenclaw. As it says on the Harry Potter Fandom website, 'it's not unusual to find Ravenclaw students practicing especially different types of magic that other houses might shun', and thus we see Ravenclaw's like Professor Trelawny specialising in Divination, which a lot of other people at Hogwarts don't seem to take seriously, and Luna Lovegood and her affiliation with Thestrals and other very rare magical creatures that others don't even believe exist! Although Snape doesn't really stand out in this way, he can be considered as someone who expresses individuality, in his mannerisms and the way he dresses in his ironic all-black robes. As for creativity, he created his own spells and I think that shows awesome creative abilities in of itself. We know very little about Snape's interests and hobbies outside of his teaching and lesson preparation, but I can imagine that he is a creative and imaginative person just because of what he do know about him. I'd love to hear your opinions on this point guys :) Let me know in the comments.

Not only Slytherin's are capable of committing mean acts...

'There's not a single witch or wizard who went bad who wasn't in Slytherin', is something that Hagrid tells Harry and there is a lot of prejudice towards Slytherins all being bad in the books/movies which I just hate, but I could write a whole blog post on this topic alone! Slytherin's get a bad name and of course, Snape did some very bad things and yes, he was sorted into Slytherin but that's probably because of the fact that J.K. Rowling used Slytherin as a place to dump most of the obviously mean people >.< Whenever people think about all of the cruel acts that Snape committed, it seems fair that he should automatically be a Slytherin, but there are a few people from other houses who in Hagrid's words 'go bad'. Peter Pettigrew is in Gryffindor and we have him to thank for Voldemort's revival and more, however I'm going to use another character as my example because he's a Ravenclaw. Gilderoy Lockhart manipulated heroic wizards into telling him all about their achievements and then would use a memory charm to make them forget ever telling him, and claim their actions as his own! This is obviously mean, but no one is getting injured or killed. But in the Chamber of Secrets, Lockhart shows that he would have quite happily let Harry and Ron suffer so that he could survive! Professor Quirrell is a Ravenclaw and another perfect example. So, Snape could still be in Ravenclaw despite the horrid stuff he's done.

Okay, I think I should stop writing now! I think I have given enough reasons why I think Severus Snape could very well be a Ravenclaw. Do you agree with my points? I could go on much further, but if you've managed to make it to the end of this post then you deserve a medal XD *presents you with an imaginary epicness medal*. Thankyou if you did read all my ramblings; I hope that it was,at the very least, interesting! I don't blog about Harry Potter things much as I don't want to bore everyone, but if you did enjoy this post and want to see some more related content in the future, I would love to know :) I hope you all have a lovely week!

Thankyou for reading!

What is your Hogwarts House?

Do you think you should have been sorted into another house than Pottermore decided?

Are there are characters that you think should have been sorted into a different house?
