Manic Panic Lipstick Review

On Tuesday my order from Attitude Clothing arrived, bringing with it bits and pieces for my halloween outfit. If you saw my recent post on DIY halloween costumes, you'll know that one of my ideas was to dress as my own version of a Living Dead Doll and this included wearing a dark shade of lipstick. I decided to try a Manic Panic lipstick, which until earlier this year I never knew existed. I thought hair dye was the only product Manic Panic made, so it was a nice surprise and I'm definitely interested in trying out their other colours.

First of all, I love the packaging/presentation of the lipstick. It really speaks to my 15 year old gothic self with it's jet black colour, skull logo and 'lid' full of little diamantes.  When I was younger, I loved dark lipsticks and eye make-up but was too self-conscious to wear them myself, but as soon as I set my eyes on this lipstick I thought 'where have you been all my life?!'. The collection is called Manic Panic Lethal Lipsticks and the packaging says *In Glam We Trust* 'Glamnation. High Voltage Cosmetics'. The shade I purchased is a dark purple colour and is named 'Deadly Nightshade'.

Although I'd done a google search before buying the lipstick and really liked the colour, at first glance when I opened it, I was worried that it would be too dark. I wanted a purple shade and not black, but it's looks a little lighter when its on. I'll have to get used to wearing such a dark colour,  especially because of the contrast with my pale skin but I think it will look great when I have the rest of my halloween costume and make-up on.

If I remember, I'll take a selfie and post it on instagram to show you all what it looks like on. I'd take one today but I'm so busy. I've got a doctors appointment later that I have to get ready for soon. Overall, I'd give the lipstick a 7/10. I really like the colour and the presentation. The only thing I didn't like is that the colour is not as matte as I would have liked. I'm looking forward to trying more Manic Panic Lipsticks and wearing this shade on halloween.

Thanks for reading

(3) Elf Cross Body Bag from Asos
(4) Hazelnut Coffee Large Jar Candle from Yankee Candle
(5) F&F Lace Up Hiker Boots from Tesco

(7) Halloween Melt Warmer from Yankee Candle
(8) Burgundy Crush Matte Nail Paint from Barry M
(9) Sleeveless Swing Tunic Dress With Embellishment from Yours Clothing
(10) Fox Washi Tape from lorabailora on Etsy

You've probably gathered by now that autumn is my favourite time of year, and one of the many reasons for this is that I love the fashion, make-up and pretty much everything else available in the stores right now, which is why my wishlist is so big this month!

I've always preferred dark-coloured clothing and have dressed mostly alternative for the past 10 years, so the clothes sold in this season are perfect for me. I really like the black swing tunic dress from Yours Clothing because the lovely red/pink embellishments make it a great dress for nights out but it's not too much and can be worn casually with jeans or leggings. I LOVE the scarf from Boohoo! I've always had a love/hate relationship with scarves... I love them because of all the pretty styles and colours you can buy but I get irritated with having something wrapped around my neck! Am I the only one? I've mostly purchased wool or silky scarves so I thought I'd give this material a try. I also really like tartan. Another bonus is that tartan looks good in winter, too... but if I like it, I'll probably wear it all year round on cold, rainy days. I have a few pairs of black/dark grey boots, and I wanted a change so these hiker boots have made it onto the wishlist this month. Everytime I see someone wearing brown boots, I wish I had some of my own so I think it's about time I did!

I can't get enough of all the awesome scents that Yankee candle release at this time of year. I'm a big fan of sweet-scented candles and there's an array of these kinds in shops and online right now. There's a limited edition offer on for the large Hazelnut Coffee jar candle on the Yankee Candle website at the moment so check that out if you're interested. I'm really curious about the scent of this candle as I love the scent of coffee and I enjoyed Yankee's cappuccino truffle candle As for the halloween melt warmer, how adorable is it? I keep seeing it on instagram and I really need it! I will happily use it all year because it's just so cute and bright.

Another thing I'm currently spotting all over instagram is brown shades of lipstick, and I really want to try them for myself and after a good search online, my favourite so far is the Mac 'Antique Velvet' shade. I think it looks so nice and I would love to add it to my small but ever-growing lipstick collection. No. 3 on my wishlist is not autumn themed I know, but how could I resist the adorableness of that bag? It feels like Christmas is fast approaching and its not even reached Halloween yet, but the stores are already stocking up on festive decorations, food and other wonderful items. I gave in and purchased my first Christmas items the other day, two festive marshmallow lollies! If I end up celebrating christmas with my friends at a fancy dress party this year, I was thinking of dressing as one of Santa's elves and so this Asos cross body bag will go so well with the rest of my costume :)

Hope you have all have a fantastic day!

Who else loves tartan? What's your favourite autumnn lipstick colour?

& Who else has given in and purchased their first festive items of the year?
I'd love to know what you bought!

Little Shopping Trip | Haul

So yesterday I went to my local shopping centre with my mum to have a look around and to pick up a few things I wanted. It was nice to get out of the house because I haven't been feeling very well for the last few weeks, and I also had a nasty chest infection >.< so I've been wrapped up indoors, spending most of my time watching movies & catching up on TV shows. Luckily, the weather was nice for most of the day and I came home feeling happy with what I'd bought. My main agenda for the shopping trip was to get a new lipstick that goes well with the purple dress I've bought for my birthday celebrations and as you can see in the photo above, I looked at ALOT of different shades! I went into Debenhams looking for MAC lipsticks, but they didn't have any :( I also looked in Boots & Superdrug, and eventually decided on a lovely plum shade by Maybelline. I promised myself that I'd explore using more lipstick colours this year and other than red, I've never worn any bold colours like this, but my friends liked it on me so I'm excited to start wearing it. It's called Plum Passion.

Maybelline Plum Passion Lipstick, Maybelline Lipstick,

Maybelline Plum Passion Lipstick, Maybelline Lipstick,

My shopping budget was not as much as I'd have liked because most of my money is going towards the birthday celebration I have planned for this Friday. Me and my best friend are having a joint birthday party, which is exciting! We've been friends for so long & have never thought of having one big celebration for the both of us but with her birthday being only a week before mine and the fact that this is the first year we've been able to spend our birthdays together since I left for uni 3 years ago, it seems like a great idea!

Whilst I was out shopping, I also got to see one of my closest friends who was popping into town to meet his brother and decided to join us for dinner at El Greco's cafe. For anyone who lives in and around my hometown, this cafe has always been one of the best. I remember going there with my mum when I was little, and also as a teenager with my friends. I had chips & a bacon sandwich, it was delicious! It was lovely to have a catch up with my friend and chat about how excited we both are for this Friday!

After saying goodbye to my friend, me & my mum went to the market :) I love markets! I really enjoy looking around all the little stalls and finding things that I wouldn't in the shopping centre. I was looking for another birthday present for my best friend but I can't tell you all what I got yet because she reads my blog (Hi Jess!) From the market, I picked up this adorable mystical hare magnet, a dragonfruit scented yankee candle, some cheap purple nail vanish in preparation for Halloween & some map postcards showing some of the towns in the county of Lancashire (where I live)...  map postcards are very popular when swapping postcards with people from other countries :) I always have to get my rabbits a treat when I go to a market; they'll be very happy with these banana chips

Lastly, I couldn't go shopping without having a nosey at all the Halloween stuff! The £1 stores seem to be as excited as I am about Halloween approaching! As soon as autumn begins, I'm constantly thinking about Halloween. It's my favourite holiday of the year, and you can get so many cute things. I got some pumpkin tinsel to put up somewhere in my bedroom to add to the autumn decorations that I already have up. I spotted this Candy Corn scented yankee candle in Clintons. It smells yummy, but not as yummy as the pumpkin gingerbread I got at Morrisons!

Halloween Haul

I had a great day shopping yesterday and spending time with my mum :)

Hope you're all enjoying your day, wherever you are & whatever you're doing.

Did anyone else go shopping this week? What did you buy?
