May 2018 Kawaii & Geeky Wishlist

Hey everyone! How is it the last day of May already? Why the heck is this year going by so fast!? The sunny weather isn't helping matters, not that I'm not enjoying it for the most part, but does anyone else feel like each day just seems to blend into one never-ending day when its hot? The months might be speeding by but at least it's getting closer and closer to my favourite events of the year! Early this month, I spotted an ad on facebook for The Rasmus' 2018 Tour and I was hit with so much nostalgic giddiness! I was super happy when my best friend said that she would go, and booked the tickets right away, even though I was supposed to be on a spending ban in the days leading up to my holiday (oops!). Who else was (and still are) a fan of this Finnish rock band? I have them to thank for bringing rock music into my life and igniting the alternative part of my personality when it comes to music and fashion! I was just entering that part of your life when you are starting to develop our own interests and quirks when I saw 'In The Shadows' on MTV (back when it was still dedicated to music, it feels ages since then!) and I was pretty captivated! Anyhow, before this post becomes an essay about the dawn of my alternative awakening (hahaha XD that sounds like a title of a novel written by an emo teen!), I need to get on with my monthly kawaii & geeky wishlist. It was actually pretty tough to put together this time round since most of what I'm lusting over right now are gig/show tickets! Enjoy!

May 2018 Kawaii & Geeky Wishlist

1. Funko Star Wars Vulptex Pop Vinyl Figure I absolutely adore foxes and so when I was watching the new Star Wars movies and spotted these gorgeous intergalactic fox-like creatures, I fell in love! These crystal foxes remind me of Pokemon (which my regular readers will know I love!) and are magical-looking, like something I could imagine living in the forests of the Studio Ghibli movie Princess Mononoke. I would just really like to add this figure to my Pop collection!

2. AMUSE Usadama Chan Touch Plushies HOW CUTE ARE THESE GUYS!!? I neeed one! I especially love the grey & white one because it reminds me of Malakai & Jacob, two of my own bunnies  Amuse is one of my favourite brands when it comes to plushies, they are always such fantastic quality and super squishy and soft! I have a lot of plushies from this Japanese company, of all sizes and species, but they keep bringing out more and more awesome designs including these bunnies. Usually Amuse rabbits have floppy ears, however these have pointed ears and I just have a mighty need!

3. Sumikko Gurashi Desk Chest of Drawers One of my favourite things to do when I should be getting on with my to do list instead is to watch YouTube videos :D I very much enjoy watching people's bedroom tours and desk tours, and having a nosey at their stationery and homeware collections. I am always a little jealous whenever I see people's desks decorated with the lovely kawaii mini drawers. The Sanrio and San-x ones are really  nice, I want some! These Sumikko Gurashi desk drawers are so sweet and look like they could fit quite a bit of stationery inside the drawers. When my bedroom decorating is all complete and I have my new desk set up, they would look great on it!

4. Harry Potter Hedwig Enamel Pin I love magic & I love owls, so its no surprise that I love Hedwig the Snowy Owl from the Harry Potter books. I feel like in the books we get to see a lot more of Hedwig's cheeky personality, VS in the movies when we just get glimpses of Harry's owl delivering mail or sitting in her cage. She's adorable and I would be very happy to wear this pin out and about!

5. Harry Potter Luna Lovegood Enamel Pin There's so many of these official chibi character pins available on the Grindstore website and to be honest, I want them all but for now, I'm just including my favourites. I can't believe they are only £4.99 each! Luna Lovegood (and Severus Snape) are my best characters from Harry Potter and even though I wish that Luna was dressed in her lion outfit VS this one, I still want it for my pin collection :)

6. Harry Potter Hagrid Enamel Pin I don't see much merch of Hagrid and he's such a fabulous character! I can relate to him so much because I love animals too, especially the ones that other people tend to dislike. He's so sweet and caring, and I love how loyal he is to his friends and he also looks like he'd gives great hugs! Who else really wants to hug Hagrid? So yeah, I'd like some more Hagrid merch in my life and this pin is a good place to start.

7. The Passage by Justin Cronin After reading the Hunger Games back in 2010, I discovered that I really like the post-apocalyptic/dystopian genre and started to look for books in this category that were aimed at adults rather than children. Since then, I've read a few books that are set in a dystopian world with extreme regimes, governments and/environments, and I thorough enjoy them. Season 2 of The Handmaid's Tale has not long started, and so I have this genre on the brain right now, which reminded me that I would like to read another popular book of this topic. A search of Amazon brought Justin Cronin's The Passage to my attention, and after I've finished reading the Harry Potter series, I'm hoping to move on to this book. It's even better that this book is the first of a trilogy so I will have several books to read. Have any of you guys read it before? I'd love to hear what you thought of it & whether you'd recommend it or not :)

8. Pokemon Centre Kanto Pokemon Doll Plushies I had to put this entire collection of newly released plushies from The Pokemon Centre onto my wishlist this month, because I am really struggling to just choose one that I like the most! They are all so flippin' cute and even though Mew is one of my top 5 Pokémon, I just can't get over how sweet the expression on Squirtle's face is and I love the cheeky expression on Gengar's face too! Omg how do I even pick just one! How about you? Can you choose your favourite of the bunch? I really like the Pokemon doll style and there are so many that I would love to own.

9. Pusheenosaurus Power Bank When I was in the airport going through the security area and I had to put all of my hand luggage content into the trays to go through the scanners, I just looked at my plain old portable chargers, and thought about how much I wanted a cool one fit for a nerd! Last week, I came across this super awesome Pusheen portable charger on Truffle Shuffle and it's perfect! What's not to love about a dinosaur cat!? The little mischievous look on the face of Pusheenosaurus makes it hard for me to resist wanting to buy it too!

Thankyou for reading!

May Wishlist

Hi Guys! Yesterday I realised it's been a ridiculously long time since I last shared a monthly wishlist with you all. As you probably know by now if you're a regular reader of my blog, my start to 2017 has been filled with financial problems and with the impact everything ESA-related on my mental health, writing a wishlist of all the things I definitely couldn't buy was something I thought was best not to do. I'm in a much better mindset now, and I've been getting more active on social media again so of course I'm spotting things that I really want and well, it seemed time to get back to writing my wishlist posts. I hope you enjoy reading through my May Wishlist :)

May Wishlist

 1. Dream Catcher Pendant Necklace I have always loved dream catchers; I used to collect them when I was a teenager. They are just so pretty! Of course, I really love the look of dream catcher themed jewellery because of this, and since I already have a couple of silver dream catcher necklaces, I'd like to add a gold one to my collection. I'm not a huge fan of gold jewellery but this one, as descriped on the website, is a 'gold-tone' and appears to be quite a pale colour, which suits me :)

2. Rimmel London Lasting Finish Primer At the moment, I don't use any primer and I want to start using it as the skin on my face is quite dry. I really like Rimme's Lasting Finish foundation so I thought I'd give the primer from that line a try. Has anyone else used this product? What did you think of it?

3. Bunny Patchwork Duvet Cover ASDA make some of the loveliest duvet covers! I'd love a spring-themed duvet cover right now, and I recently spotted this pretty duvet in one of their spring catalouges. I fell in love with it right away... a) RABBITS! & b) I think patchwork style designs are so nice. This bunny patchwork duvet has a very pretty design, and I need it!

4. GTFO Enamel Pin Badge This pin badge is awesome! That is all :D

5.  House of Disaster Origami Fox Lamp I've been after a funky animal lamp for a while now, and this is perfect! I love foxes and I love origami art (I can even make an origami fox myself!). I love the design of the neck/chest of the fox as well as the position it's sitting in. It's super cute! Even though I think it's supposed to be a red fox, the animal nerd in me can't not see a Tibertan Sand Fox, and seeing photos of them always make me smile because of how square their heads look. I don't know why it makes me smile, but it does haha This lamp has been reduced from £35 to just £21 so I'm pretty gutted that I can't buy it right now.

6. Paperchase Floral Scrapbook I've been wanting to make a scrapbook for my mental health recovery achievements to both keep me motivated but also to document my progress in a creative way. I was impressed by the quality of the last scrapbook I purchased from Paperchase to fill with university memories, so I'd like to get another from there. I love how bright and inviting the floral cover of this scrapbook is. The design makes me think of the doodling I did on my notebooks in high school... I think some of the flowers look like they've been drawn using a highlighter and pens. I really like that about it. I also prefer scrapbooks with blank square pages, so this one is great for me.

7. Yankee Candle Medium Jar 'Cuban Mojito' Yankee Candle has released a new range from Spring/Summer called Viva Havana which includes some candles that sound lovely, a mix of floral and fruity scents. I'm not really into floral fragrances, so the candles that appealed to me were this Cuban Mojito one and also the Delicious Guava one. I love mint so I'm interested to find out what this candle smells like, and I think it will be a nice, refreshing change from the scents I usually go for (e.g. vanilla frosting, cappuccino truffle, etc.).

8. Library of Fragrance Vanilla Ice Cream I've featured some Library of Fragrance perfumes on my past wishlists and still haven't gotten around to buying one! With British Summer Time fast approaching, I'm in need of some seasonal scents. Most of the perfumes that are popular in Summer are floral ones and as I mentioned, floral fragrances are not for me. Real flowers I love to smell, but I'm just not overly keen on perfumes unless they contain fruity notes too. This Vanilla Ice Cream scent sounds like a lovely alternative as ice-cream is one of the first things that pops into my mind whenever I think of Summer. I think I'd smell delicious, haha, and hopefully all of the insects don't agree and annoy me when I'm out and about!

9. Suedette Floral Embroidered Boots How pretty are these boots!? I love all of the floral embroidery fashion that is available right now, especially the traditional folk look ones. I seriously need some new black boots, because mine have almost seen the end of their days and will need to be thrown out soon :( I've never worn heels because I'm ridiculously clumsy so I've always been nervous about breaking my foot or something, haha. However, I wanted to give heeled boots a go instead, and these Floral Suedette Boots are fantastic for Spring/Summer. New Look are always my go to for boots.

10. Fold & Fly Gratitude Journal The Fold & Fly stationery range from Paperchase is so so pretty! It's nature and origami combined so it's right up my street. I think that gratitude journals are great, and I like that this one is not one of those diary style ones that's dated and has a page for each day of the year. I've tried to stick to those types of journals before but I just can't do it. This one, I could find in when I have a brillant day and feel the need to document it. I love how it has several questions to answer about the day too, and it's a bonus that the pages have a lovely design too.

Thankyou for reading!

May Wishlist

Good evening everyone! It's time for another monthly wishlist :) I hope you all enjoy reading these posts! How's your day been? Let me know what you've been up to in the comments. I had a very nice lie in, watched tv, relaxed for a few hours in the garden and then got straight to organising this post. I'm lovin' how nice the weather is getting!

wishlist, may wishlist, fashion wishlist,

 1. Festival Woven Rucksack I'm in need of a new backpack for summer to take with me when I visit places, like the zoo, new towns, etc, as I usually carry a lot of stuff with me especially when the weather is nice as I need to keep hydrated and like to carry a few bottles of water. This rucksack has a lovely design; I really like the colourful patterns and the brown straps. It also looks big enough to fit all my essentials in.

2. Marine A5 Notebook How cute is this notebook!? I really love the origami style of the animals on the cover. I love marine creatures and I've never had a notebook with them on! This needs to be rectified immediately, and it's the perfect time for me to get a new notebook. I like to keep all of my expenditure plans and other finance information in a 'money book' and the one I currently use only has a few pages left. Something I love about this marine notebook is that it has multiple sections in it, so I can organise the days I get paid into one section and what I'm spending in another. I can't wait to get a new notebook. It feels so nice to start a fresh book. I use all my favourite pens and my handwriting is always super neat. If only I would keep this up! My writing gets increasingly more messy as the book goes on! haha

3. Reasons to Stay Alive by Matt Haig I've seen so many great reviews about this book so I'm really looking forward to reading it myself. The book tells the true story of one man's struggle with depression. I also struggle with depression and I'm hoping the book will be helpful to me in some way, even if it just reminds me that my feelings are shared by others and that I am not alone in my struggle.

4. Disney Princess Vans I absolutely adore the Vans X Disney range! I got the Alice in Wonderland Cheshire cat ones for my birthday and they are so pretty. With summer fast approaching, I need to get myself more shoes because most of the footwear I own right now are boots. I like how colourful these Disney princess Vans are, and that they have all of the classic Princesses on. Which are your favourite Disney Vans?

5. Diva by MAC Cosmetics This gorgeous shade of burgundy/red lipstick has been on my wishlist for a while now and after buying my first ever MAC lipsticks last month, I'm now ready to try more! I'm a big fan of the darker shades of lipstick and I would love to add this one to my collection. I'm definitely becoming more and more addicted to lipsticks! What's your favourite darker shade of MAC? I'd love some recommendations :)

6. Floral Smudge Tunic Dress Another thing that I need to do before summer is stock up on some new clothes! I love wearing black clothes so I only have a few items of coloured clothing in my wardrobe and the majority of those are evening dresses. I seriously need to do some clothes shopping and the first thing on my list is the lovely floral dress. The print instantly makes me think of butterflies and I love that it's not too bright with just a few splashes of colour on a darker blue background.

Thankyou for reading!
