June Wishlist

Hello lovelies! I hope you've all had a wonderful week so far! Tell me in the comments one thing that's happened this week to make you happy :) Tomorrow, I'll be travelling back home from my holiday in Prestatyn, Wales. I can't wait to blog all about it. Today's post is going to my monthly wishlist. Enjoy!

June Wishlist

1. Purple & Blue Mixed Print Top I'm in need of some short-sleeved tops and vests now that it's summer, and I just really love the design of this top. It will look great with a pair of leggings or jeans, and because of the darker colours, it will be fantastic for autumn too.

2. Cat Bow Crew Socks Forever 21 has so many adorable socks! I wish that ankle socks didn't irritate me because they have such lovely pairs! I finally found a pair of standard socks and how adorable are they?! I love the tiny red bows on them, too. Seriously, go check out their socks :)

3. Peter Rabbit Felt Garland I fell in love with the pretty garland instantly! It's so nice with the insects, bunnies and flowers, and I think it would just look fantastic up on my bedroom wall this summer. I absolutely love how the bunnies have little pom-pom tails!

4. Pyro Pet Rabbit Candle I've been lusting over Pyro Pet candles for ages now, and I recently discovered that they had released a rabbit one, in both white and peach! I'm so happy that there's finally a bunny version (proud crazy rabbit lady here!) It's such a gorgeous design, really simplistic and would look great displayed in any room of the house. I just think these candles are so cool and quirky with the metal skeleton hidden inside.

5. Lip Smacker Mini Milk Lip Balms My lips have been feeling really dry at the moment and I stumbled across this set whilst searching for lip balms last week. Mini Milks are delicious so I can't wait to find out what these lip balms taste like. Mini Milks make me reminisce about the summer holidays when I was a kid, of playing out with my friends all day in the sun, getting covered in mud and grass stains, riding my bike and playing on the local park and excitedly running home as soon as I heard the cheerful song played by the ice-cream van, hoping that my mum would give me money for a Mini Milk. It's hard to believe that they were only 20p each back then! What was your favourite flavour? Mine was milk.

6. End Catcalling Necklace I really love all of the accessories made by Punky Pins, and this 'End Catcalling' necklace is both adorable and makes a statement. I'd love to add it to my new funky necklace collection that I'm building up.

7. Black as Your Soul Bathbomb Hex Bombs have been taking the online world by storm at the moment with their unique, alternative-themed bathbombs, with the 'black as your soul' bathbomb gaining a lot of popularity on social media. It's no surprise though, this bathbomb looks incredible. I can't wait to try it out for myself. The only problem with them being so popular is that they go out of stock super quickly, but the company announce on their instagram when they've restocked their bathbombs which is handy. Have you tried any of the hex bombs yet?

8. Cat A4ish Notebook After receiving a lovely notebook from Ohh Deer in my lastest Papergang subscription box and absolutely loving it, I decided that I need more of their notebooks in my life. This is my favourite notebook currently stocked on their website. It's a gorgeous shade of pink and I love the simple design of it. The cat on the front is so bloody cute!

9. Jeffree Star Cosmetics Liquid Lipstick in 'Abused' These lipsticks have been all over the blogging world lately and I've been wanting to try them out for myself since I first saw them a few months ago. All of the reviews I've read for them have just tempted me even more, and with so many awesome shades available, it's been hard to just include two on this wishlist. I want to challenge myself to wear a bolder colour of lipstick and I love how this shade looks. It's eye-catching but not too bright.

10. Jeffree Star Cosmetics Liquid Lipstick in 'Dominatrix' I absolutely love brown lipsticks and so I was immediately drawn to this one, maybe the name attracted me a little too ;) It will be a great colour to wear in autumn especially, but I wear shades typically associated with autumn all year round because they are my favourite. It's a shame that both colours are currently out of stock, but I'll happily wait for them to be restocked to avoid any shipping fees if I was to order from the US.

Thankyou for reading!

What's your favourite item from my wishlist this month?
Have you ever tried Jeffree Star Liquid Lipstick? If so, what do you think?

May Papergang Box

Happy Wednesday guys! I'm finally going to be showing you all what I got inside my May Papergang Box. Sorry that it's taken me so long to get this post up! If you haven't heard of The Papergang before, it's a monthly subscription box from the wonderful company OHH DEER. It includes stationary and sometimes even a quirky item or two. If you love stationary, then you should definitely check it out. Anyhow, I hope you enjoy reading!

The May Papergang Box, Papergang Box, May Papergang, The Papergang,

The May Papergang Box, Papergang Box, May Papergang, The Papergang,

I absolutely love the packaging of The Papergang Box. It's really unique and I love how the design seems to reflect the items that are going to be inside, so it's kind of like a little sneak preview. I really like the cut-out lettering on the front of the box plus how cool is it that there's an origami character included on the back of the packaging!? This month's box has a Hare for everyone to make, and I can't wait to give this a go myself (that's if I can figure out how to do it, I'm rubbish at this sort of thing! haha). I think it's super awesome how they've utilised the packaging to make it useful and fun.

The May Papergang Box, Papergang Box, May Papergang, The Papergang,

Here are all of the items that were included in the May Papergang Box. From the left: Magnetic Kew Cacti Shopping Pad, x2 Foil Pencils, Crane Scissors, Greeting Card & A4ish Cacti Notebook with Graph Paper. As much as I love all stationary and will be able to find a use for every single one of these items, I want to give you all an honest opinion of what I think whenever I review something. I was a little dissapointed with what I received in this box. It just didn't wow me as much as my first Papergang box did (read about it here), and I'm not personally a big fan of the black cacti design. It's just not for me, but I know that lots of people will love it so it's all down to what you like and dislike.

The May Papergang Box, Papergang Box, May Papergang, The Papergang,

My favourite item in this box has to be the crane scissors. They are just so gorgeous and unique; I've never seen anything like them before! I'm not usually a fan of gold but in this case it's perfect as it makes the crane look more majestic. I'm really impressed with the amount of detail on the scissors and it's just something really nice to have handy when I'm doing crafty/artsy things. Another item that I really like is the greeting card. It's a fantastic illustration and would make a lovely Birthday card for any animal lover or for any of your loved ones who are particularly grumpy haha (I think the Rhino looks so grumpy!)

The shopping pad is also a great item! I don't like the black cacti design, however I really love this style of list pad so I know it will be well-used. I love how these types of list pad usually come with a magnet on the back so it can be attached to the fridge to make recording your shopping list much easier. The items that I didn't enjoy as much as the others inside the May Papergang box were the A4ish notebook and the pencils.

The pencils are too simple for me and I'm not keen on the greeny-yellow colour of one of them. Although the tiny gold leaf and flower details are cute, it still doesn't make the pencils any more special to me and I feel like they look quite cheap. I'm hoping that they are a decent quality when I use them. As for the notebook, because of it's black cacti design, it just doesn't appeal to me. At first glance, I looked past the pattern on the cover because I love notepads and I can never have too make of them, but then I realised it's square, graph paper inside! I really don't like notebooks with graph paper, they remind me of high school maths which I truely hated and I can't think of what I'm going to use it for now. I might give it to a friend :)

Overall, The May Papergang included some cool items and I feel happy that I enjoyed some of them, however it was not my favourite box and it made me worried that the June Box would be similar. Since it took me a while to get this post up, I've actually just realised my next Papergang Box and it seriously did not disappoint! I will show it to you all very soon!

Thankyou for reading!

Do you get The Papergang box? What did you think of this month's box?

Hex Bomb Bathory Bloodbath | Review

Have you heard of Hex Bombs? I'll be surprised if you haven't yet! This incredible range of bath bombs has been taking the online world by storm recently. I've spotted them all over facebook, tumblr and instagram, and so many of my friends have been talking about them. A few weeks ago, I finally managed to get myself two of the Bathory Bloodbath ones when they were restocked and after they'd arrived, it didn't take long for me to use one! Oh my gosh, this bathbomb was so awesome! I've been so so excited to tell you all about it. Enjoy!
Hex Bomb Bathory, Hex Bomb, Hex Bomb Bloodbath,
I was really happy when I discovered that these bathbombs were only £3 each, as I was expecting them to be a lot more pricey so I will definitely be ordering loads more as soon as I can. The delivery was super quick and the products were packaged so well that it was actually quite hard to open haha. That's what I like to see, no risk of damage for these bathbombs! I love how the bathbombs come inside a little plastic tub so they are easy to store away in my drawers without ending up with bits of bathbomb powder everywhere. The bathbomb is an awesome size and it could be cut into two if you wanted, although I prefer to use bathbombs whole. I was instantly drawn to these bathbombs because of their unique, alternative-themed designs. All of them have fantastic names and it just makes them even more appealing. So, are you all ready to see the gory awesomeness of the Bathory Bloodbath? It honestly looks like I'm cleaning away the evidence of a murder :)

Hex Bomb Bathory Bloodbath, Hex Bomb Bloodbath, Hex Bomb Bathory,

Seriously, how cool does this look!? I was fascinated watching the bathbomb fizzle away in my hand and the red spreading throughout the water. It didn't take long to dissolve and for my bath to turn completely red. As soon as the bathbomb touched the water, the loveliest fragrance of berries was released and it smelt so good. It reminded me of those raspberry and blackberry sweets, hopefully you all know which ones I mean. The scent lasted for a long time too. The ingredients in this bathbomb are sodium bicarbonate, citric acid/ cornstarch, baby berry fragrant oil and red pigment. Almost every one of my friends has asked if it stained me or the bath? It did not haha

I 100% recommend the Bathory Bloodbath to you all, it was great fun to use and I'm really glad I bought two now. The quality is excellent and has only made me more excited to try the other Hex Bombs made by Bella Muerte Clothing. The next on my wishlist is the 'Black as your Soul' bathbomb. I truely felt like a vampire stepping into the bath, or like a warrior bathing in the blood of her enemies. Who doesn't want to feel like that? ;)
Thankyou for reading!

Have you ever used a Hex Bomb before? Can you recommend any similar alternative bathbombs?

June Pop in a Box

Yayy! Today I'm travelling over to North Wales for a five day break! I can't wait to go to the beach, to walk in the sea and build sandcastles and collect seashells and feel the sand inbetween my toes. I'm probably going to be spamming my instagram with photos & I hope you enjoy seeing what I'm doing. Are you going on a summer holiday? *instantly starts singing 'we're all going on a summer holiday...'* I'd love to hear about your plans! Today's post is going to be all about the latest additions to my Funko Pop! collection. Enjoy!

Pop in a Box, June Pop in a Box, Funko Pop,

Pop in a Box, June Pop in a Box, Funko Pop,

This month in my Pop in a Box subscription, I received a Pop! figure & another of the vinyl figures made by Funko called 'Dorbz'. The Dorbz figure is Sally from The Nightmare Before Christmas and the Pop! is Holden from American Horror Story: Hotel. Any fellow AHS fans reading this? I'm really happy to have received both of these figures!

Pop in a Box, June Pop in a Box, Funko Pop,

I fell in love with this adorable little Sally figure as soon as it appeared in my thumbs up and thumbs down list on the Pop in a Box website. If you've never heard of this subscription before, you basically get to select all of the figures you would love to receive and all of the ones you never want to get on the Pop in a Box database. You are then sent a figure each month at random from your 'thumbs up' list, although you can opt to be sent several figures at once. I usually stick to Pop! figures but I couldn't resist this Sally Dorbz; she will be the only Dorbz I have for a while as I don't want to start another collection of figures just yet.

Pop in a Box, June Pop in a Box, Funko Pop,

I absolutely love the detail of this Sally figure's dress. It's so bright and eye-catching. I also really like the simplistic style of her face, with the adorable little smile. I think the neat, compact design of the Dorbz characters is awesome plus I love the texture of the paintwork, it's so smooth. Also, unlike with many of the Pop! characters I've received, I can't find any faults on Sally. The figures are a lot weightier than I thought, so they could even be used as a mini paperweight. I'm really impressed and am now definitely considering getting more Dorbz in the future. They are very much living up to their name, which is derived from the word Adorable :)

Pop in a Box, June Pop in a Box, Funko Pop,

Just look how sweet vampire Holden looks! I'm so chuffed that I have my first American Horror Story character! I'm a big fan of the series, and I'd love to build up an little army of AHS figures. Something I love so much about this figure is how well-designed it is! Funko have done a great job of making the figure almost perfectly resemble the character. His hair is so pretty and I love the detail that's gone into it.

Pop in a Box, June Pop in a Box, Funko Pop,

I love that they've added blood around Holden's mouth. He's a vampire so it's only right that he's got some blood included in his design. I very much like how his outfit stands out from the rest of the figure. Overall, he's just really well-designed. The only thing that I'm not so keen on is the lines under his eyes. I know that they are there to reflect that he's a vampire but I just don't like them; they are more noticeable than his eyebrows from a distance! Annoying that there's some mistakes on my Pop! vinyl as always, but not as much as usual so that's great. Holden's head slightly tilts to the left but it's not super noticeable and kind of looks like it's supposed to be like that. As for the paint job, his right eye is messy, which makes it not perfectly round and there's also a mistake on one of his socks, but you can barely tell.

Pop in a Box, June Pop in a Box, Funko Pop,

Thankyou Pop in a Box for another set of surprise figures! I think this subscription box is such a good idea. I'm really enjoying being subscriped to it! I'm very pleased with the two vinyl figures that arrived this month and I can't wait for July's box.

Thankyou for reading!

Do you have any of the Funko Dorbz figures?

June Kawaii & Geeky Wishlist

Hey everyone! I've been such a busy bee today. My family & I are going on a little holiday to North Wales on Monday and so I've been packing and sorting out all of next week's blog posts. I can't wait to get away for a few days, to relax and be in my element with my camera. I'm such a typical tourist! North Wales is a beautiful place and I'm really looking forward to exploring more of it. How has everyone's day been? I hope you all enjoy today's post

Kawaii & Geeky Wishlist

1. Cat Paw Enamel Pin how adorable is this little paw pin!? I really need to add it to my pin collection. It comes in four different colours and I wish I could have them all. Who else loves cats?

2. Alice Through the Looking Glass Mystery Minis I absolutely love blind boxes and cute little vinyl figures. This collection is super adorable and who doesn't love Alice in Wonderland? I'd be happy to receive any of the characters!

3.Vaporeon Ditto Transformation Plush I've been in love with the ditto transformation plushies since the first set was released. I love his sweet little face and how it looks on the faces of other pokemon. As soon as I saw that there was a vaporeon in the new ditto transformation collection, I had to have it! I'm going to be ordering it as soon as I can :)

4. The Hello Kitty Baking Book a book full of hello kitty & baked goods!? this is so perfect for me! I adore hello kitty so much! I collect hello kitty plushies and find it hard to resist buying most hello kitty items I find when I'm out shopping. I'd love to add this baking book to my collection and be able to make yummy sanrio-themed treats whenever I want!

5. Tokidoki Mermicorno Blind Box I am so so happy that there's a new set of tokidoki figures out! I haven't even finished my current collection of Series 4 unicornos but I just have to get myself one (or five) of these! Every single figure is a mermaid unicorn, and the designs of the eight figures available are really pretty and so colourful!

6. White Cat Mug last month, I told myself no more mugs! But look how nice this cat one is! How could I say no? It's got ears and an adorable little kitty face and the handle is even a tail! You can never have too many mugs, right? Who's with me? haha

7. Sailor Moon Sailor Scouts Bag I've needed a new shoulder bag for a while now and I love this style of bag. Sailor Moon is awesome, plus looking at the characters is so nostalgic and reminds me of my childhood. I love the design on the front of this bag, it's so bright, girly and lovely. This bag looks like it can fit lots of things inside, too.

8. Vans X Nintendo Shoes The new vans X nintendo merch collection is really cool! I'd be over the moon if I could get my hands on any of the shoes, but my favourite are the Super Mario Bros ones. I'm very much a fan of mushroom print so I'm lovin' that these shoes is covered in mini mushrooms and all the other funky mario characters. I'd feel awesome walking around with these on my feet.

Thankyou for reading!

Thoughts on not being able to work | Health

Today's post is going to be a more personal one, about something that really gets to me and some days, overthinking about it very much affects my mental health. Since graduating from university, I have not been able to work. I have not been able to join in with my peers applying for jobs, going to interviews or starting graduate internships. If you are a regular reader of my blog, you will know that I am a spoonie, that I have several invisible illnesses, that I suffer from chronic pain. I have fibromyalgia, irritable bowel syndrome, asthma, generalised anxiety disorder and depression. Throughout my degree, these conditions emerged in full force and changed my life. Having to deal with physical and mental chronic illness is so difficult because of the symptoms but also because of how it impacts your everyday life. It's stressful not being able to work and I wanted to discuss my thoughts about why.

Not being able to work

Not being able to work makes me feel left out. It makes me feel almost like I'm being left behind, stuck at home, whilst I have to watch my friends and fellow graduates venture into an exciting new chapter of their lives. Working is fulfilling and it brings with it lots of opportunities. It's fun to meet new people and to work within a team, plus you can achieve your goals and be proud of your work. It makes me sad that I'm missing out on experiencing this, and more often than not this feeling of missed opportunities fuels my depression and anxiety. I overthink about the future and when and if I will ever be able to follow my career dreams. I live with a feeling of dread, of gloom, because I want to be doing more with my life and the fear that I won't get to do some of the things I wanted to with my life is sometimes overwhelming.

Another problem that not being able to work brings is everyone just assuming that it's a temporary problem. People expect that you're going to recover soon and then be ready to go back to work or in my case, start looking for work. Sometimes explaining that you're not sure when you'll be able to work is hard so it's easier to just say that you're ill at the moment and although the people in my life know I struggle from anxiety and fibromyalgia, they don't fully understand what that means. Anxiety is seen as 'just abit of worry', 'everybody gets nervous', 'I'm anxious about that too' and they assume that this isn't enough to impact your life. They don't get that anxiety is a serious mental health condition. As for physical health, it's a classic case of 'but you don't look ill', therefore I must be able to work. People can't see the pain you have to endure everyday, they cannot see the sleepless nights, the never-ending fatigue, and all of the other symptoms that accompany it. So as a result, I am still asked 'have you been applying for any jobs?' whenever I have a catch-up with friends. I know they are just curious about how my life is, about how I'm getting on after university, but it's a constant reminder that I'm not working when I wish I could be.

Not being able to work

Not being able to work sometimes makes me feel like I'm wasting my degree. I worked so hard to get to university, to prove wrong everyone who ever doubted me and to make myself proud. The year before I went was a very hard time, the depression I'd experienced in my early teens came flooding back and I believed university would be a fresh start, the most amazing time of my life. Unfortunately, my body had other ideas and not long after I'd settled in, my health started to get worse. By the time I'd gotten to my third year of study, I was at an all time low. My mental health was really severe and it was one hell of a struggle to make it to the end of my degree. I sometimes find myself thinking about how much I endured and for what? Yes, I am proud of myself, I proved just strong I can be, but I feel lost when I think about the fact that I am not using any of the skills I learnt.

Facebook can be a nightmare for reminding me what everybody else is doing and what I am not, and as most of us know it's really difficult not to compare. I see my fellow graduates working in zoos all over the world and I have so much admiration and excitement for them, but I also feel a little jealous too. I want to be living my dream, and coming to terms with the fact that it might not happen is challenging. I like to stay positive as much as I can, but also want to be real with myself to prepare for what could happen.

Not being able to work

A final issue that makes not being able to work hard is dealing with judgemental and irritating comments. 'You are so lucky that you don't have to work!', 'I wish I could just stay at home all day', 'At least you don't have to work a 12 hour shift', are just some of the comments I've experienced and I'm sure my fellow spoonies can add many more to the list. It's difficult to not get really angry sometimes, like yeah, I'm so lucky to be in pain constantly; I feel like I've worked a 12 hour shift of hard labour when all I've done is have a shower and tidied my bedroom!  I wish people could understand just how stressful it is that I don't have a choice, I am not capable of being able to work right now.

Although I cannot work at the moment, who knows what the future will hold. I am trying my hardest to work towards recovery and getting to a good place with my mental health. Only then can I start the journey of finding out what I am capable of. There are days when not being able to work are bloody tough, but not as tough as having to deal with my health so I need to try my best not to let the opinions of others get me down and be confident in the fact that I have to deal with so many things that they do not. I am a warrior, I am strong and even though I may not be able to get my dream career, I can still enjoy my life :) I hope you all enjoyed this post and that it has been a helpful one. Sorry if I ranted too much haha

Thankyou for reading!

Are you not able to work right now? What are your thoughts on that?
Are you a spoonie that works? If so, what is the most hardest thing about working?

Dinosaur Wishlist

I absolutely love dinosaurs! I have been fascinated by them since I was little. I was always glued to the TV whenever Walking with Dinosaurs was on, I had toy dinosaur figures and I used to walk around pretending to be a dinosaur! I loved the movie 'Land Before Time' and was so impressed that there was a character called Sarah like me, and I would rewatch the episodes of Dragon Ball Z when Gohan was left on a planet full of dinosaurs by Piccolo over and over again. As I grew older, I fell in love with reptiles and I now want to work with them which is no surprise. I'm always searching for dinosaur items online and so I thought it would be a great idea to share with you all a wishlist of the dinosaur goodies I'm after at the moment. I hope you enjoy reading!

1. Tea Rex Giant Mug  I think this mug is adorable and such an awesome play on words! It makes me smile everytime I see it so it would be lovely to have one of these to cheer me up with my cup of tea every morning.

2.  Nessie Soup Ladle I have wanted one of these cuties since I first laid eyes on them! It would be so cool to have one of these in my kitchen some day when I finally have my own place. They are available in a few different colours and sizes too.

3. Dinosaur Origami Necklace I just love this pretty little necklace, with it's simplistic design. I love origami and I'm a fan of any jewellery or homeware with an origami-inspired design. This necklace is available in gold, silver and rose gold, and I'd definitely choose silver. Which would you choose?

4. Glittery Dinosaur Ankle Socks I'm in need of some new dinosaur socks because my favourite pair of socks, purple with lots of little colourful dinosaurs on from Primark, have now seen the end of their days. RIP awesome socks! I like the design of these because they are really different to my other dinosaur socks and I fancy a change. I like the blue and pink colours used for the dinosaurs, plus they are in the sale at the moment too which is fantastic.

5. Marshmallow Dinosaur Pin Badge I had to crop the photo to fit it on my wishlist, but there's actually five dinosaurs available, all in a different colour: t-rex, triceratops, raptor, stegosaurus and brontosaurus. I love every single one of them, but my favourites are the stegosaurus and the triceratops. I love the cute design of these pins and the pastel colours they come in. I'd love to add some to my pin collection.

6. Cath Kidston Dinosaur Breakfast Set I love a good crockery set and this one is so awesome with such a great dinosaur print! I love how detailed and colourful the illustration is and I'm really happy there's a pterodactyl on there because they are my second favourite dinosaur after Velociraptors. The gift box that the breakfast set comes in is amazing, too!

7. Wooden Dinosaurs Gnaw Chew Set Because I love dinosaurs, my rabbits have also gotta love dinosaurs! haha :) I'd love to get them all a set of these wooden chews; they can never have too many toys and I love the bright, eye-catching colours they come in. It's also a great price at 2 for £2.50.

8. Doofy Dinos Patterned Zip Case I've bought a lovely phone case from this awesome Etsy shop before and I really liked the pattern with the pale colours and adorable little dinosaurs. When I found out they also have the design on a zip case, I added it to my wishlist right away! I'm after a case to keep my medication, sanitary towels and other important bits and bobs in my bag, and this would be perfect.

9. Single Dinosaur Necklace I keep seeing amazing necklaces all over instagram and it's making me crave my own collection of cool, quirky necklaces. I recently started my collection with a wonderful Princess Mononoke mask necklace (see it here) so I'm looking to expand by getting one of these colourful dinosaur necklaces. My favourite is the pink t-rex and I love that they are only £5 each! The product description says 'so it's time to introduce our little lonley single dinosaur necklace. He needs a friend... Could you be it?' and after reading this, I feel like I need to rescue him and be his friend! Awww :)

10. Skinny Dip London Stegosaurus Case All of the cases by Skinny Dip London are so pretty! I've been lusting over so many of their cases for ages, and then I spotted this one and fell in love! How could I resist such a funky design!? I love the pastel blue and pink, and this iPhone 5/5S case is now half price!

Thankyou for reading!

My Geek Box Kids | Subscription Box Review

Happy Monday everyone! I hope you've all enjoyed the first day of summer :) I spent most of my day travelling to and from and attending my monthly appointment at the Salford Royal Hospital's pain centre for my fibromyalgia. The highlight of my day was finally getting to enjoy some chips at the canteen as every other time I've been to the hospital, it's always been closed! (they were very yummy by the way!). Today's post is going to be a review of the kid's edition of the My Geek Box subscription. Enjoy!

My Geek Box Kids

Back in April, I decided to search for a subscription box for young girls as it would soon be my niece's 8th birthday. She really enjoys watching unboxing videos with me so I thought it would be a lovely surprise for her to get her very own subscription box. On one of my typical binge-watching sessions of unboxing videos, I came across the My Geek Box Kids, which is available as a Little Heroes or a Little Princesses box. From what I'd seen, it looked like a great box and I was excited about ordering one for my niece.

Do you ever plan to order a one-off subscription box but then you completely forget to cancel? Hopefully I'm not the only one! Asking this may seem random, but it ties in with my opinions of this subscription box :)

My Geek Box Kids

When I finally received the May Little Princesses box, I was actually a little disappointed. I was sent a huge box and was looking forward to opening it to check what was inside, before re-sealing it and giving it to my niece. I was surprised that inside such a big box, there were only five items, with two of the items being the same, and lots of empty space. Although, the RRP of the items easily covers the cost of the box (which is £19.99 plus P&P each month) and the website does say 5-7 items, it just seemed a little unexciting compared the other boxes I'd seen on videos and the photograph shown on their website. I was worried that my niece would be expecting the box to be packed full like the other subscription boxes she's watched me open in the past, so I decided to get her another present for her birthday and try to gather a few more items myself to add to this My Geek Box before giving it to her.

This is where the forgetting to cancel my subscription comes in. I completely forgot that I had actually signed up to a subscription of this box so a few days ago, I was greeted by another massive bright blue box when I came downstairs to get some breakfast. I was so curious to see what would be inside this box. Would it be the same as last months? Would I be left disappointed again? It turns out that this box was completely different! It was exactly what I'd expected to find in the first box; it was packed full of items and looked awesome! I wanted to explain all of this before showing you all what was inside the boxes, so finally here's what items I received...

First view of the June Little Princesses Box

As you can see upon opening the boxes, the June Little Princesses Box is packed full of items. When a child opens such a huge box, they are probably expecting it to be stuffed full of exciting new toys so this is a perfect box. I was really happy with the June box and if I'd received a box like this in May, I'd have been very impressed with the subscription box overall. May's box was a lot more empty in comparison and to fill the box, it even had plastic packaging inside on top of the items. Even though I know that the items in the May box are worth the price that I paid, it doesn't feel like it. The website states that the RRP of each box is £40+ so this makes me expect a lot more for my money, too. However, with the June Box, I feel completely different and feel like I've got good value for money and would happily give this to my niece as a present.

My Geek Box Kids June

In the June My Geek Box Kids, there were eight items, vs the five found in the May box. The items included in the boxes are chosen for 5-11 year old girls. I find the June box a lot better as it includes a mixture of both toys and artsy items. Most of the items in the box are fun and give the child receiving it lots to do, such as drawing on the 'Scribble Me' My Little Pony plushie, colouring in, making the adorable kitten mosaic or building the mega blocks princess set. The items in the May box are great, but they are much less interactive toys, other than the Barbie Doll, compared to the ones in the June Box. I decided to give the June box to my niece as a late birthday present, after removing the Dora the Explorer toy as she's not very keen on Dora anymore and adding the blind boxes from the May box, as well as two items I'd bought for her myself.

It was really fun to watch her open the box and see her eyes grow wide when she saw all of the items inside. She loved pulling out all of the items to investigate what they were and as my other niece was at my house too, they were both really enjoying themselves. The bracelet was opened straight away and put on, and the first toy that they decided to open together was the Mega Blocks Princess set. If every Little Princesses box came like this one, I would be happy to order it again :)

Thankyou for reading!

What do you think of this box? Would you order it for your niece/daughter/granddaughter?
