Another Spooky Box

Yesterday, I was searching for something in my bedroom and found a Spooky Box Club subscription box that I'd completely forgotten I had received a few months ago! Ooops :) So I thought I'd blog about what was inside this box. I love getting subscription boxes, especially when I'm trying a new one out! I have always loved surprises. My sister who's the complete opposite when it comes to surprises can't understand how I can wait so long to open things! Growing up, she would always be searching around the house trying to find her Birthday and Christmas presents, sometimes she found them and used to pretend she'd never seen them. She doesn't mind knowing what's inside her subscription boxes before they arrive either! Me on the other hand, I can happily keep an unopened package in my bedroom for days without opening it. It just makes me even more excited for when I finally get into them! How are you with surprises? Are you like me or my sister? Anyhow before I start rambling.. I  hope you all enjoy this post :)

Spooky Box Club

This is the second box from the Spooky Box Club that I've received. It's the only alternative subscription box available in the UK and includes several items made especially for the Spooky Box Club. Each box has a different theme and this box is called The Box of Strange. Check out my first Spooky Box here. The packaging for this subscription box is gorgeous! I think it's really pretty and unique. There's always a sticker on the front to give you a little clue about the theme.

The card inside the box that lists all of the item descriptions also said 'Our Box of Strange is a tribute to those dark characters we identified with and related to growing up, like Wednesday Addams, Emily Strange, Lydia Deetz & the girls from The Craft. We loved the cool clothes, creepy houses and how strong, alternative role models were not afraid to be themsleves. Three cheers for being yourself, being different and loving it!' I alsolutely loved reading this!

The Box of Strange contained 10 items, 8 of them are Spooky Box Specials so they are designed exclusively for the box. The items included: Mason Drinking Jar, Batty Charm Strap, Reversible Wednesday Collar, Pewter Mini Skull Pin, Ornate Skull Filigree Tote Bag, Strange Sew on Patch and x2 Spooky Box Art Prints (We are the Weirdos... & Wednesday Addams). The other item included was a Black Velvet Pectacle Choker and every box includes a handcrafted gourmet lollipop.

The 'Ornate Skull Filigree Tote Bag' is one of my favourite items in this box. Although I don't like using tote bags very often, I do really like them for trips out in summer, visits to the park or walks in the woods, to carry my picnic or beach supplies, and for packing for sleepovers too, so this bag will come in handy for the next few months. I love how the bag is designed to maintain the alternative style with the skulls and the purple background but is also very colourful too. I love the filigree details with the little leaves incorporated into the pattern. The bag is a great size and will fit lots of items in, plus it's got long handles/straps which I like.

Being a lover of pin badges, I naturally think this 'Pewter Mini Skull Pin' is the best item in the entire box. I just really like the design and I love the dull metallic colour of pewter. It will look great worn on any of my black cardigans and tops :) This little 'Strange Sew on Patch' is really cute with an alternative but feminine look to it which I like. I'm still on the lookout for the perfect bag to put all my patches on but when I find it, this one will be joining them. I know I'm a strange person and I am very proud of my quirks, so I will show off this patch with pride.

I think this Wednesday-style collar is lovely! It's reversible, with one side being black and the other white so it can be worn with different coloured shirts/dresses. I don't have anything to wear it with right now, but I will save it until I do :)

This is nice little choker but I don't like loose chokers, I prefer wearing firmer ones if that makes sense haha I do love pentagrams/pentacles so if I don't gift this to a friend of mine, I will probably remove the pentagream and pop it onto a necklace chain.

How cute are these two prints? I love how adorable the Wednesday Addams print is! It's like kawaii meets goth! I like the ragdoll design of Wednesday with her button eyes and her monochrome colouration (other than her pale pink rosey cheeks). My favourite part of the print are the adorable little ghosts surrounding Wednesday, I like how each of them have different coloured eyes. As much as I love both prints, the one on the left is my favourite. The quote is from The Craft, which I've never actually seen, and I really like it. I can't wait to find somewhere to put these prints.

I'm lovin' this bat charm, it's too adorable. I love the addition of the little pink bell and it reminds me of the charms I used to attach to my old Sony Ericsson brick-of-a-phone when I was younger. After taking these photos, this charm went straight onto my purse. I really enjoyed the gourmet lollipop that I got in my last Spooky Box. It was birthday cake flavoured and a really good quality product. This lollipop is lemon meringue flavour and I love lemon so I can wait to try it.

Beetlejuice is one of my favourite movies and I have always loved all of the characters that Winona Ryder plays, including Lydia Deetz. I definitely could relate myself to her when I was a teenage because I was alternative and always had a camera in my hand (not that I'm much different now!). 'I myself am strange and unusual' - me too girl, me too :D I really like mason jars because I can fill them with lots of juice and who doesn't appreciate a funky, photogenic cup? I like the purple straw and lid.

Overall, The Box of Strange edition of the Spooky Box Club subscription was pretty awesome! I will use the majority of the items I received and they are all really cool. They all fit the theme well and it's so great that there's an alternative box out there. There really is a subscription box to suit every interest and taste.

Thankyou for reading!
