Carve a Heart Campaign | Blogtober

For today's blogtober post, I wanted to share something that everyone can get involved in this Halloween, something that's for a very good cause. I saw an advert the other day by World Vision, a charity that works to help children all over the World that are living in poverty, about a campaign that they launch in October called 'Carve a Heart'. I thought it was a great idea for this time of year to spread awareness and to raise money, and I knew I wanted to contribute. I thought I'd share it on my blog too, to hopefully get others to join in

Since it's the month of Halloween, pumpkins are now readily available in stores and lots of people will be buying them to make Jack-O-Lanterns. The charity World Vision have taken this as an opportunity to launch a campaign to help raise money to help children living in fear in conflict and war-striken countries. The 'Carve a Heart' campaign asks people to cut a heart shape into their pumpkin this year and to let it shine bright to spread awareness. As well as carving your pumpkin, they ask you to give a little donation to the charity. You can text HEART to 70060 to donate £3. I sent my text earlier :) You can read more about the campaign here. The charity are also encouraging people to share their pumpkins, or you can get creative and make something with a heart on, e.g a cake, on twitter and instagram with the hashtag #carveaheart for a chance to win prizes. I just think this is a great campaign to get involved in and hope that you guys can carve a heart this Halloween, too.

Thankyou for reading!

I'm interested to know who else carves a pumpkin for Halloween?
If you do, what's the coolest design you've ever carved in one? Mine was Jack Skellington's face, it looks adorable!
